It had been interesting to see some kind of program where she could discuss with other Aspies what it's like to live with AS.

In fact Heather had the most screen time of any of the girls last night.

No, that's just my idea. That's a thing I'd like to see.

In the first few episodes she was discussing her idiosynchricies with Tyra at the judging, issues with body language, etc. CLICK HERE TO VOTE IN THE POLL

also here is the chat behind Heather in the program Heather Chat and you gotta see her interview

Heather is from Valparaisio, IN. I admit to being drawn into the Aspie girl on ANTM, so I went to the web site and looked at the boards about her. There are lots of people posting from Valpo that talk about her "crazy" behaviour. She used to go out on the lawn and scream at the top of her lungs during puberty, etc. I watched my son go through this and I'm remembering my self doing some of those things. I don't think there's any doubt. I also am on the dismiss the "my favourite symptom" bandwagon. I have this trouble with my ex. He (meaning my son) doesn't really have it because he has friends, he doesn't avoid eye contact, he doesn't do this, he doesn't do that.....as if we are all little cookie cutter people like the NT's.

Cool, will have to watch it.

Seems strange having someone with AS enter into such a fickle, bitchy type show/industry, but hey if she's really good then go her!

She said she did it because everyone PUSHED her and said she should. She didn't think she would be picked, but figured "WHY NOT?"!

Couldn't see the clip as I'm not in the USA.
She doesn't seem to be too socially impaired, but she reminds me a lot of myself in body language and voice.

She is doing very well. She is great at posing for pictures. Some people used to make fun of the way that I used to pose for pictures.

Last night, she won the challenge--and the prize was a photo shoot for Carol's Daughters--an organic skin care & makeup line. Mary J. Blige was the art director for the shoot. Both she and the photog said Heather's got a future in modeling. They both commented on her shyness, but I don't think either knew she was an Aspie.

And her competition photo was fierce. She gave 'em head-on, like they wanted.

Looks like in 2 weeks, tho, she's gonna have trouble. She passes out while filming a music vid, and the previews said, "Tragedy strikes."

Of course, previews being what they are, that could mean she breaks a nail. :p

Edited to add: For the 4th week in a row, Heather was the audience favorite, Covergirl of the Week.

oh~! what a beautiful shot!

I really hope she DOES'T win, and I have no disregard for her talent or even her desires, nor do I wish her anything but well and fabulous but I think she will be wonderful what ever she does, and having the 'crown' of the year I think, would just be a hindrance.

just sayin'

I wonder if she actually has an account on WP anyway?

Time to find out.

Just saw the tease for USA's Harry Shearer's "The CBS Early Show" about Heather and "her form of Autism" but I have to be to work before I can see the segment. From what I gathered, they are RAVING about her.

How wonderful to point to someone to say "you know, like Heather" than "well, not exactly like Rain-Man".

That's not wonderful at all. I don't want to be compared to someone who makes a living showing her naughty bits on television.
