The avatar that I'm using, now. I've brightened up an old one, by scanning the exact picture from a book, and than "Playing favourites." I mean, cutting Mick out of the picture and sizing the image for WP. Perhaps, I should just stick with it. Many people keep their avatars, for years.

I'm interested in language and learning Arabic at the moment. The differences to English I find fascinating. I've been told this is inappropriate with the cultural climate at the moment, but I'm afraid that prejudice is kind of lost on me.

Story structure, particularly;

The concept of the"story mind", which examines a "premise", and explores, one after another, or at the same time, ( through the characters and what happens to them ), the arguments for and against it as "truth"/a useful belief/approach to life.

The "subjective story" throughline relating to the crucial relationship/interaction between the Main Character, ( not necessarily the same thing as the protagonist ), and the "Impact Character"; think Red and Andy respectively in "The Shawshank Redemption" or Scout and Boo Radley in "To Kill a Mockingbird".

How to build plot, character, and theme on a premise, eg. "Unconditional sacrifice leads to freedom", in which "sacrifice" provides the plot, an absence of freedom is the main character's initial condition, and "unconditional" ( what that actually means ), becomes the theme, ( NB. I think that the ring in LOTR was "the premise"; I've been trying to work out what it was! :lol ... something "awful" seeing as it gets binned? )

Still happens to be Star Wars and Transformers, but these have taken a backseat to a revived obsession, Duke Nukem3D. It appears that Transformers might get replaced by this, but I'm not sure. I don't have as great an interest in Tfs as I once did. Maybe once the new movie comes out...

I'm very jealous of anyone who has an obsession that's actually useful in a career, because my obsession is sports (Yankees and Knicks). Still, Sports is the one thing that Neurortypicals can have Aspy like obsessions about lol, so it's a good obsession socially.

Well, career-useful obsessions are kind of a mixed-bag.
I was fascinated by the police (law enforcement can be a good career), but when you have parents naysaying your ability to get that job, it's can also be a curse. :?

at the moment, i would say that my main interest is women's and gender studies, Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer studies and activism, and other related things. mostly due to my recently coming out (at least to a degree) as a transgendered/transsexual woman. who is also attracted only to women, so file me under "lesbian" too, as well as "queer" since i really don't care much for conformity in general and gender conformity more specifically.

As for past and other areas of interest:
--sports...in the past it was more focused on men's sports, i still am a fan of them but have become MUCH MUCH more interested in women's sports in the last 5-10 years or so. i feel like this is at least in part related to coming out as trans and etc, detailed above.
--music, particularly folk/blues/rock and combinations thereof. Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, were among the stuff i liked as a teen and still do like. i became a major Grateful Deadhead just a few years before Garcia passed away, and also like Bob Dylan a lot. 1960s and early 70s hippie/socially relevant music in general...Phil Ochs, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, to mention just a few that have not already been mentioned. Lately i am really digging the Indigo Girls and Ani Difranco, once again see the first paragraph regarding my emergent transfeminine self, making me more interested in women musicians.
--left of center politics and social actiivsm more generally...more and more i am convinced that the world needs some fundamental change of a socialist/anarchist/feminist variety if we humans, our animal relatives,and the world in general is to survive and maybe even thrive in time.
--as a child i was really into commercial signage and logos (seems to be contrary to my socialism but there you go) particularly gas stations (Sinclair dinosaur, Standard/Amoco oval and torch, etc) and Coca-Cola. i still kinda like this, although i am now generally cynical about the businesses that the logos represent.
