Yes sometimes I feel like the topics i post go ignored especially when I see every other topic being responded to. I need to learn not to take things so personal I guess...

No. I feel comfortable here. Actually...maybe the reason I feel comfortable is because no one pays me much attention here.

This is the first place that I've found people who I can relate to in a lot of ways. I never felt at home in my own skin before.

I feel comfortable here, because I feel like I can post what I think and not have to think about everyone taking things the wrong way. On other forums, people will either miss my points or get mad at me (or so it seems to me).

Also, it is relaxing to read literal direct posts on WP instead of posts dripping with something or other that is difficult to say what it is but communicate no information to me except that they are exhausting to read and probably meant to ridicule me and my posts or others and others' posts.

Haven't been at WP long enough to know, but i'm an outsider everywhere else. Online is no different; i have no online friends because i don't know how to do the back and forth (IM'ing, email, etc) very well. It's the same social stuff but a different medium :(

I like WP, and I have enjoyed it since I joined in 2008. But I don't feel like a popular member that people would miss if I disappeared. Although I feel like a part of the WP family, I don't feel like I am one of those really popular members that people think about a lot. And that's fine. I am not used to being the center of attention as it doesn't feel right to me. So I feel like a member that lingers around the edges of the inner circles.

I sometimes feel like an outsider in my own head......so of course I'm going to feel like an outsider even here or anywhere else.

This thread must be really popular. It keeps popping up at unexpected moments. 8O

And I'm still me, so still an eternal outsider. :P

I feel like an outsider even here; although I feel like less of an outsider here than elsewhere.

One of the problems is that I took a BIG break from WP, for a couple years I think. I used to get lots of PMs and stuff, nowadays I don't really get any. I feel better understood here, at least. It's basically the only place I am open about my diagnosis, only place I talk about autism related things.

this is the first place i didn't exactly feel like an outsider, but i couldn't help but notice that the membership here skews heavily towards the young, and this fact makes me feel old and irrelevant and unwanted. :hmph:

Oh, you shouldn't feel like that, auntblabby. Your posts are always welcomed and interesting to read. It seems to me that people really like you here. :)

I do feel like an outsider but I don't think I care much. Well, most of the time I don't. It took some time to adjust though.

WP to me feels like a great equalizer. or at least a moderate equalizer. as long as i stay away from the "hot aspies threads" i feel alright :)

WP is the first online forum I've come across where I actually feel relatively comfortable - I almost feel like I belong, even though I don't contribute much. I like that it tends not to be competitive like many other forums - I can't bear competitiveness esp when it really makes me feel like an outsider or a fraud.

Maybe we should rename that thread. Really it's just a pictures and chat thread.

"Hot aspies" might not like it. /jk

Btw, I'm glad if I made you smile, auntblabby. :)
