I was always obsessed with the grateful dead when I was young and wished I could go on the road with all the deadheads. Now I'm kind of obsessed with sustainable living/back to the land/survivalist kind of things. Still wish I could have followed the dead though.

Just remembered I have an ongoing on-off obsession with microbiology and parasites. A friend and engaged in a talk about parasites, forgetting we vwrre in an openn chat room, and grossed off all the other people in there, who said "Eww! I'm off!" or words to that effect, and left the two of us alone discussing malaria, liver flukes, and tapeworms all by ourselves.

I played with lego's till 13(many hours everyday). Then my brother came
in oneday and said I was a fag/p**** I should be out having sex and building
real cars. Needless to say he was a NT a$$hole. I then got a more "manly"
hobby chemistry(for the next 16 years). I guess now I'm just a scatter
brained ADHD person on the net, looking up things.

My obsessions:
Linguistics in general (so powerful that I'm a linguistics graduate student)
Writing systems, orthograpy, and typography

To a lesser degree:
History and Culture (I'm more interested in general trends and how they affected the culture rather than detailed biographies).
Science fiction and Fantasy
Military History and technology

My obessions are Final Fantasy series music. I've got almost every Final Fantasy music that's out there on the web. I've gotten all sorts of Final Fantasy music from Final Fantasy 4 through Final Fantasy X-2. I've gotten all sorts of Final Fantasy 8 pictures on my computer. My most favorite Final Fantasy game is FF8. Squall Leonhart is like my role model.
My other two obessions are Tigers and Novel Writing. I've got Tiger posters all over my walls in my room. I've got a Tiger throw blanket. I've got Tiger sheets, pillow cases, blanket. I've got two tiger plushies, five statues of tigers and some more.
Novel Writing: I've written four novels so far and I'm gong to write several more. I've got everything on how to write novels. How to get published and the unsaid law of publishing.
Oh yeah I love getting sound tracks from my favorite movies and tv shows. CSI, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phatom, Worlds Wildest Police Videos, Star Trek TNG and DS9. Yep that's mostly all of them.

many things like philosophy, psychology, history, various science and technology, geography, finance, biology, economics, religion, sociology etc that I dip in and out of, basically I like knowing 'stuff' about everything, I HATE not knowing something, I guess you all know what I mean. :D

I have a bit of an obsession with news sometimes, becoming a bit of a 'news junkie' at times, trawling through tons of news sites, newspapers and tv, it's amazing how little news there really is sometimes.

Also have a bit of a fascination with conspiracies and stuff like that, probably a bit on the paranoid side but also somewhat of a cynic.

I sort of collect quotes as well, I dont know why but I just love famous quotes, they help inspire me somewhat when I feel down.

My main interests however lie in two areas aircraft and cars, for cars it's mostly performance cars and racing cars and has been since I was a child, my encyclopedic knowledge of cars impresses some people, though really I am no better than some of the other car nuts out there who may or may not be aspies or similar.

For aircraft it's mainly ww2 military aircraft, or military aircraft in general and also expands out into military history and other military equipment sometimes, I always return to my beloved aircraft though, which I have also been obsessed with as a child, though not quite as long as I have been with cars.

Past:
Thomas the Tank Engine
Trains (riding them)
Model Trains
Dinosaurs
Baseball (first time)
Star Trek (the "starship" toys)
Star Trek (then the "action figure" toys)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (toys and like three VHS tapes we had)
MacGyver (the explosion during the opening credits made my week)
Wings (an old show on the history channel about planes, not the sitcom)
Married with Children
The TGIF lineup of shows (Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Step by Step, Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs)
Hogan's Heroes (first time)
Gilligan's Island (first time)
Back to the Future (first time)
The Nick at Night lineup (I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show (much worse then I remembered), the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Munsters, I Dream of Jeannie, Taxi, Bewitched, ect...)
The Simpsons
Beavis and Butt-head
Singled Out
Watching the History Channel in general
David Letterman
Conan O'Brien
Watching the news straight from 6:00 to 7:00 for some reason
Jeopardy!
The Twilight Zone
Metallica
Tom Clancy Novels
other people's novels and other authors too but usually novelists.
Gilligan's Island and Hogan's Heroes again (DVD rush)
There are more but that's enough.

CURRENT:
Star Trek, all incarnations (I watch the battle scenes alot and certain episodes. Like reading meaningless and fake technically info from fan sites. Still not as fanatical as I once was)
Baseball (second time) (I purchased game, Out of the Park 2, and it was off to the races to mix metaphors)
History (the focus for the more then a year on bios of marxist leaders with a dabble into American history, WWII, and alot of military history)
Movies (I don't watch alot of movies but I like to talk to my self alot about them)
Politics (heavy reading, with use of internet. I don't watch much TV just for the heck of it)
Asperger's (current. I have been getting as much information ever since I suspected I might have it. I have been spending more time on this then anything else though I suspect it will drop off once I get a diagnosis and start to figure everything out somewhat.)
When season 5 of "24" comes out on DVD I will be focused onto that for 36 hours, but then will lose interest for the next year.
