I feel bad they died personally otherwise I'm more interested in WHY he did it. I also find the Grand Theft Auroa funny IMO. My sister also got an ifunny pic. that had spider-man on it and it said 'No one got shot at my movie" and I bust a gut laughing. Also I heard he used his $26,000 college money to pay for this I said "Ya" sarcastically and got yelled at by my dad.

If it doesn't affect me or my family I don't tend to care much. That's just how I am so I can totally relate!! :-)

"Every country has the government it deserves" said Joseph de Maistre in 1811. It's one of my favorite quotes.

I think also every people has the future it deserves.

I'll admit I'm not the most empathic person in the world, but I felt sad for the people who died and all their friends and families - don't you feel anything for anyone, not your parents, siblings, a friend? If you have a therapist I think you should discuss this with them.

This.

The OP's post here is repulsive, wrong, and sick.

I don't care if he's unphased by the news. As a fellow human being, he should have the common decency to not laugh at it and post this *#*@.

The OP feels sorry for himself and his disability, yet feels nothing for true sorrow in the world and posts humor about tragedy. Sick.

Why hasn't this post been removed? It's not only in poor taste, it's poking fun at human tragedy.

So...you don't feel saddened for the loss of life but can laugh at it? Why is it funny? It's actually sick that the artist has such little regard over the loss of life that they'd make something like this.

If you don't want to be a labelled a swine then maybe you should try to learn some empathy. I did and now I'm over empathetic.

And, this. I'm so tired of people feeling sorry for themselves and using a disorder as an excuse for poking humor at tragedy, for laziness, and for arrogance. There's no excuse. The OP posting such and the "art" is messed up and should be removed from this site.

You shouldn't be on an Autistic forum. You obviously don't understand Aspergers or the way the Autistic mind works. Why should it get deleted? I'm trying to understand myself, and this is a forum to help people with Autism.

And I, and many other people enjoy dark humor. I always like to see the humorous side of tragedies. What is the f*****g point of being a downer about something that's out of my control?

Removed from the site? I thought this was a forum for support for people with all forms of autism, and to help them with any aspects of their life. Deleting it is defeating the purpose of this forum.

You are just making yourself look like a complete dick head. And as I said above, you shouldn't be on an Autistic forum. You obviously don't understand Aspergers or the way the Autistic mind works.

I don't feel sorry for myself at all, and don't use my disorder as an excuse at all. I just came here on the forum to express my point of view, and if any other people with the disorder had it, or if there was stuff I could work on to improve it.

I'm not sure this is 100% a lack of empathy thing. I think reading in the paper, talking about it online or watching it on the tv news creates a distance from it emotionally. People don't feel anything because it's just words and pictures; it doesn't show us the full reality. Nobody can empathise, because unless you've been caught in a mass shooting you don't know what it's like.

Yeah, while I'm not happy to hear about people getting killed, it is a fact of life that all creatures die so is there anything that can really be done to stop it? No, and I'm not saying that justifies it, but when I heard about this incident, my reaction was a combination of "oh, that's terrible, why would someone do that?" and "Cool, maybe now less people will go see movies, and hollywood will die."

Empathy for the victims yes, empathy for Holmes no. And I didn't find the Grand Theft Aurora spoof funny either.

I was going to say, I think it's kind of crass when some people really react dramatically to something in the news. It's obviously fake, and to me it just seems kind of disrespectful to the people who were actually involved and actually have a reason to be very upset.

haha, that's how I feel about it too. I hate how people are so fake about being polite... Like, that's what being polite is... It's essentially being fake and saying s**t you don't really mean... How the f**k is lying to people supposed to be polite? We really need some like aspie community thing where people might actually make a bit of sense once in a while, and we aspies wouldn't get so damn stressed and frustrated all the time.

It sounds like you do care to me, you just sympathise more with the killer. The first question that came to mind reading the thread title 'does he mean no sympathy with the killer, or with the victims?' and it seemed clear to me that you do not have sympathy with the victims, so the answer is obvious.

And like others said, it says something about you, not about autism.

Well, if I wanted to say he was trolling, I would have said "ooo spends his time here trolling." But I don't know what his intentions are, so I reported what I have seen.

I do tend to sympathize with the "baddy" in situations. I watch alot of Crime shows (Crime investigation channel is always on in my house). I feel it's easier to relate to those f****d up people,.

Well it is hard to say if he was a psychopath I don't really empathize at all...if it was a case of painful mental illness as well as environmental and social factors that lead up to it I have no choice but to as I have certainly dealt with those feelings, and have wanted revenge. I haven't acted on it and I wouldn't want to since if I just give into hate then there really will be nothing left of me worth keeping around...so yeah my own feelings have led me to believe even those who would 'never' do something like that could be pushed.

But if he's just a psychopath and did it for some personal gain, media attention or pleasure then yeah I admit I cannot find much sympathy or empathy for him. In both cases I feel sympathetic towards people that survived but its not really the first thing on my mind and I would probably feel worse about it if it involved people I know or have at least met.
