When I tried to "modify" myself to "get girls," the girls saw right through that, and rejected me.

Just be yourself. Make sure you and your clothes are clean. Make sure your hair is neat. Carry yourself with decent posture. Avoid religion/politics/gender issues at all costs at the beginning. Make sure the person knows you're listening to her when she speaks. Talk about your family--that's the great ice-breaker--really it is!

AND FORGET ALL THOSE DARN STATISTICS!! !! !!

Chances, guarantees...they come from the same thought process - finding a partner is not something that can be manipulated by modifying variables. It is just something that sometimes happens to people. It has been so drummed into our heads that love and marriage are a renumeration for societal participation that people take it for granted. But love doesn't work that way.



I disagree, that thought process means that one has to make no effort/adjustments/improvements to find love.

Telling to get more out of the house, is modifying a variable - you are contradicting yourself.

My point is that love happens or doesn't while you are doing other things. Better to get on with life rather than stew about what you don't have.

It's not the first time I've had to face cuteniztion. I deal with it by transferring similar behaviour to my pets.
