In my evaluation it said that the way I sat and held my hands was designed to increase my propioceptive input. This was apparently indicative of some sort of propioceptive issue that I was compensating for.

I've always been a bit "clumsy"

Of course, none of the above is really a problem. I can touch my nose with eyes closed (people with proprioception impairments often have problem with this test). But I suspect that my body awareness is somewhat weaker than normal. What about you?

I just tried to do this and hit my upper lip...

I have very minor general apraxia. I'm "clumsy," basically.

I can't even sit 'normally' on a chair without discomfort. I have to be twisted like a pretzel to balance myself and to stim.

I believe this is also why I crave spicy food. It reminds me I'm alive

When I was deciding which University to attend, I just happened to choose the one in the city often known as "the curry capital of Great Britain". When I still lived there, it wasn't unusual to have my dinner seven days a week in one of the really cheap curry houses which had been set up to feed the large workforce of South Asian immigrants when they came off their shifts in the textile mills. I definitely got lucky there! Eating usually just feels like a mechanical chore unless there's a bit of a kick to my food.

I made spicy butter chicken with cumin and cayenne, and jasmine rice for dinner. Zing!

Are you in Great Britain? (You don't have to tell me if you don't want to).

I'm sorry Dylanperr. I don't discuss where I live for privacy reasons.

Do you have problems with proprioception?

Thats okay. Thats why I made it optional.

You should never make it "compulsory"----it's ALWAYS optional. Nobody is anybody's boss.
