What are some experiences you've had with something you enjoy that most people would question but is common for people on the spectrum.
I'll share one: I have been listening to the same song for at least an hour now.
I can top that!
I've honestly been listening to the same song for the last few years now!
Ever since I first discovered Stars Of The Lid's "The Artificial Pine Arch Song", I haven't been able to let it go.
I do listen to other things at times but I'll listen to it for hours on end as I have done for years. It's something about the harmonics that really gets me.
When I was a kid, our Mum bought us an electronic organ for Christmas and somehow, just by playing around pressing the different keys in combination, I came across a combination of 3 keys that harmonised so wonderfully that I used to sit there and just press those keys for hours just listening to the harmonics. I think my Mum and my sister thought I was wierd and I was aware that it might seem a bit strange but I didn't care. It sort of set the scene for the rest of my life. I never did care much about what people thought of me which is probably why I've grown up such a well adjusted, happy Aspie
Before "The Artificial Pine Arch Song", it was Astral Projection's "Ambient Galaxy". That one also went for a few years
God I'm on the Spectrum - I'm so on the Spectrum, I'm off the scale!! !
