I just started reading this and felt a sense of familiarity there because whether it is in real life or on the internet, there is one thing that always challenges me and creates unintended conflict:

I don't agree with things like chain of command. If someone tells me to go to someone in order to complain about something that only someone else can handle, it, I rather go directly to the person who can make the difference. If I go straight to the person, then I feel my point may be taken and not just forgotten in transition from one person to the other.
As you can guess in a job situation this can cause conflict and it has at times.

I also dislike pecking orders, because I always seem to find myself at the very bottom and with no hope of reaching the top, or at least in a place I can feel confident and like I fit in. I always seem to find myself in conflict with people whether I like it or not.

Aside from that I tend to have a feeling that things I know and understand are either one of the two extremes: that everyone knows what I am thinking about, or at least understands...or no one can understand or know hat I am feeling. If I go to one extreme then I am sharing way more info than I need to and that puts off people. If I go to the other extreme then I'm very cynical and put off people...

I treat people according to how they relate to me. Everyone gets an equal amount of respect and courtesy from me, at first. Then, depending on how my perception of them evolves, that respect can grow or decline. Wealth, status, appearance or background don't come into play.

I'm the same.
I'm sure that a good part of the reason why I got fired from my last job was that I spoke to my boss as an equal. I acknowledged that he knew more about his business than I did, and I didn't refuse to follow his instructions, so I really don't see what the problem was.
