Exactly. I would also like to add that all emotions are motivational tools to be used in a positive way to better ones self. As an example fear can be useful to keep one on his toes but if you let it overwhelm you it can be very harmful. I can’t imagine anyone being their best without using “positive” as well as “negative” emotions.
If there is nothing we can do to NOT be equal.....then, what is the point of labeling people so they can be treated differently? Less equal. The OP's idea is all the more powerful because he's presenting it not as an intellectualization, but as the freedom to be who we are.

This isn't exactly a new idea or revolutionary mindset. Being content with who you are and not letting anyone make you think of yourself as a lesser form of human is simply common sense that anyone with a modicum of logic can conclude.
I'm happy that EmotionalSuperman has come to this realisation but his claim that this will heal the world is preposterous, because you can not make every individual human on this planet share a single view on life or themselves. The world might be a better place, but only when you ignore or can somehow remove those individuals that seek to destroy or control others because this mindset in no way impedes their will to dominate.
OP: Are you saying: "People don't have to be bothered by anything unless they let themselves be bothered?" I think that's what your post condenses to; correct me if I'm wrong.

If the heart doesn't embrace what the mind has concluded, what the mind has concluded is sterile and impotent.. It hasn't the power to change our lives, but has only superficial entertainment value instead...For a realization to take root and subsequently transform our lives--to be mind shatteringly powerful--it has to affect us on the core level of our deepest desires. And the timing has to be perfect as well.. Humanity is on the brink of extinction. As a species, we will self-annihilate/ transmute. Quantum leap in evolution. I believe annihilation and transmutation are the same phenomena because of the timing of this global event.
The OP caused me to examine my heart and what I found was excruciatingly painful. What I found is a gift in the OP's message as well as in my deepest pain...My mother has always hated me from conception. She almost died in childbirth and has always believed that during my birth, the infant me tried to kill her. That belief has caused her to wreck my life, happiness, and chances for survival.
But what the OP has caused me to realize is priceless. I have overcome my mother's hatred and found the strength to forgive her 100%. It was bitterness toward my mother that prevented understanding his message. Because I wanted very badly to understand EmotionalSuperman's message not just intellectually--but in the depths of my heart--I struggled to make that connection. The OP has something that I perceived as genuine. He was asking me to grab hold of it. I cried out--"But I cannot! I can't quite reach it." There was a disconnect.
Through this thread, I realized something. The pain my mother caused me is a curse, but it is also a blessing. The pain my mother inflicted on me is so powerful that no other pain can compare. It has, in fact, protected me from any other kind of suffering, because compared to my mother's rejection---most other forms of torture are as nothing.
One has to have experienced a deep level of suffering in order for the OP's message to sink in. If not, it will have no effect whatsoever where it is needed.
The pain in our lives has to deliver us to that point. If not, it will be only an intellectual game for the mind's entertainment and nothing more. We have to be willing to surrender our whole being to the transmutation, because if we aren't ready and willing to do that--the transmutation will not be 100%. And 99.9% just doesn't work. It's all or nothing. In this endeavor, we may try to deceive ourselves into thinking we are indeed ready. But if the transmutation fails to occur, it is because we weren't ready.
For those who are paying attention, it does seem that the planetary suffering will intensify until we ARE ready; that transmutation is inevitable.

Alba, I'm happy you've come to this realisation.
I have not experienced great suffering yet I understand it perfectly, I just don't understand why you and ES are making such a big deal out of this. Great that both of you reached a turning point when you discovered this but to make outlandish claims like you're doing is ridiculous.

Why isn't the OP here to follow up on his thread? I appreciate the opportunity to debate with you Lecks, but the scope of this thread is way beyond intellectual indulgence and I refuse to go there. We should agree to disagree. As I see it, there are only 2 possibilities to explain your commentary: Either you have already experienced your transmutation and it's a done deal. Or else you lack the capacity or the depth that genuine transmutation requires. It's not rocket science. 97% [that's purely speculation btw] or thereabouts of the global population is in acute despair. We need healing.
For you to disparage and/or dismiss that need, is an indication of being in denial. If not of your own misery, then due to the fact that you fail to acknowledge the enormous suffering of others.
I never said there's no despair or a need for change. But to think that something like this will bring the needed change is laughable. You fail to take into account all the different personalities, experiences and perspectives of the billions of people in this world. Being at peace with oneself does not equate being at peace with others.
EmotionalSuperman: Congrats, you have discovered The Four Noble Truths. Now you just follow The Eightfold Path. Transcendence awaits. Join me as we walk this path together, we shall learn neat party tricks such as "How to explain High Concept interpersonal Relations to people without sounding like a pompous windbag!" and "How to Carry oneself with Humility and Pride!" and then we will get lots of money and sex and it will be awesome! Or we'll just learn to get along with everybody, that would be cool too.
there is no way to stop yourself from getting negative emotions but you can recognize them immediatly and see what it is doing so that you can neutralize them.
instead of just blindly following the emotions like we know how almost everyone does that, including me.
there is this illusion that we are controlling ourselves 100% but we are not instead we are only controlling ourselves conciously for a small part.
