Proud? No. Accepting of my differences? Yes.

i comprehend weird as more a feeling than an actual state of being. And being that weird itself is considered an abnormal feeling offered as some type of predisposed disposition from "normalcy" I dare say that since the word derived from one man's judgment of another therefore let us add another defining character to pot and make weird normal.

Dont know if that makes much sense but just wanted to write it.....

Like most things, I'm ambivalent towards it.

I prefer the word "quirky" myself... puts a positive spin on the word "weird". And it starts with a Q, which is awesome.

I consider myself "quirky", but I don't consider myself a non-conformist.

if you are proud of who you are and you're weird then you're also proud of your weirdness.

I'm trying to find 'proud' somewhere inside myself, so that I can figure out what exactly it is and whether it can be applied to my view of my relative eccentricity..... 'proud' is hard to find. I'm not entirely sure I understand this emotion. What happens inside one when one feels 'proud'?

I would not want to be anything other than what I am now. And what I am now is eccentric at best and dangerously unstable at worst. But I never feel like a freak, as millie said she did. Well, I do, but I don't associate anything negative or positive with the word 'freak'. Nor do I associate anything negative or positive with the word 'weird'. I think this suggests that I do not feel proud to be weird. I just find it to be the case, and that is all.

I wouldn't say I'm proud of it, but I like to be different.

bizmack, I don't mind be considered eccentric for, if you think about it people like Albert Einstein was eccentric in variuous ways but, he was able to come up with such a great many ideas and perspectives on the universe despite being different..

I've had many people tell me I'm unusual, and when I was younger I was quite open about it.

Today, I wouldn't say I'm proud of anything.

An observation I've made is that most people claim normal doesn't exist (it does, but people have it defined poorly), yet many people claim somebody can be weird? You can't have both. There can't be "no normal" and still have "that guy is weird". Make up your damned minds.

I'm proud of my eccentric weirdness.

It really depends on what you define as "weird". However, I agree that "autistic" is not really the same as "weird" (but, dammit! I'm just too good at it!).

I'm not weird when I'm around autistics.

As for NTs, I don't give a ****. It's not like I'm proud, but I refuse to change who I am. If they don't like me for who I am, it's their problem. Some have accepted me, and that's all that matters.
