Hmmm.... where to start, where to start?

Ok... Coins... probably my only collection thats worth anything. I have a lot, from many countries. Mostly Canada though. My most prized coin was given to me by my grandfather on his deathbed. Coincidentally, its the most valueable. Last I checked that one coin was worth over $1000 USD. Not bad, though I'd never sell it.

Comics... oh so many comics. Spider-main mostly, though most Marvel comics appear in my collection. I have every issue of the Marvel Vs. DC series, plus most of the spinoffs. I have the first issue of Spawn, as well as the first Spider-man (no no... not the $200,000 one. The reprint, which I bought at a yardsale thinking was the original. Wanted to shoot myself when I found out it was just a bloody reprint).

I also have almost ever card to the Marvel's Overpower card game. As well as almost every Pog that was made (not the spinoff ones, the authentic Pogs). Remember Pogs? Hahah!

Now today I dont collect much... except music. I have well over 1000 albums. I lost count a long time ago.

Tails, that Sonic collection is extremely impressive, and brings back memories of the days when I used to have an unbelievably huge stash of something ( in my case, it was Transformers robot toys ). Eventually, for reasons I don't remember, I donated most of my collection to charity. I kind of regret it, but hope whoever ended up with all those Transformers got a lot out of them.

I still collect a lot of different things, from video games to graphic novels/comic books to anything related to rhinoceroses, but my collecting impulse isn't nearly as focused now. Not sure why....

When I was a kid I collected rocks.....geodes and raw agate inparticular. Also fossils and arrowheads when I found them.
I think I found every geode in every creek within walking distance from the house.

I still have some very nice store bought pieces of Geode, agate and amethyist...one of my favorite pieces is a pyrite crystal conglmeration from Logrono, Spain.

Also collected matchbox cars, radio controled cars.

Now I collect Philip Glass recordings.
Art.
Movies.
Motorcycles.....I only have 2. But one is extreemly rare and potentially collectable. Two strangers off the internet emailed me asking if I'd sell it to them....I politely declined. :)

I collect things, but not to any extreme. I love buying out of print D&D material, especially 1st edition books and Planescape boxed sets and supplements. I also buy other old RPG books. I just love this stuff. They're like sacred texts to me.

I collect dinosaurs. Or, at least, I used to until I was in High School. I have something like more than 200 in my toy chests in the closet. It was only when I ran into some bullying jerks when I was 11 when I realized that playing with dinosaurs wasn't considered cool by anyone, and have rarely bought one since. I still feel an urge to buy every type that's made and add it to my collection, especially the ones that are accurate and made to scale, like the Carnegie Collection.

I also try to get a hold of as much adult (non-pornographic), non-Disney animation as I can. I love it and sort of wish I entered a school which offered a major in illustration and animation.

currently i am obesessed with the idea that ONLY a man can be a sexist.

And why is it that any action by a woman (which if gender reversed scenario) is fair game, and not labeled with negative connotations?

First in a series of musings and wonderings about inequities; when applied to the straight white male.

I have collected over 800 digital signed celebrity photographs. I don't do anything with them I just collect them and sort them.

I have over 50 personal web pages as everything I'm even remotely interested in gets it's own web page, which I rarely show anyone I just use them as a way to sort data and it helps me remember things and I just like to organize things a lot.

I used to love to save nice boxes of all sizes paper bags but I moved to a smaller residence, so I got over that one. Also had to get over my computer hardware collection due to the move. When I moved I had to make 9 trips to goodwill to off load some collections of general STUFF that I didn't have room for... and about 12 trips to the dumpster I'm afraid as some of the collections were worth less than nothing but for some reason I collected them anyway.

I collect books, Legos, Calvin and Hobbes stuff, gift cards, and maps. Oh, and a lot of dust, apparently. I once had every single castle Lego set available, but they got "misplaced" when we moved...I still get a little upset at that one. But National Geographic sells wallpaper that ends up looking like a giant world map once it's up, and I am saving for that and the Complete Calvin and Hobbes right now.

I have had obsessions where I needed to collect thing related to what I was obsessed with. I think Harry Potter and Sailor Moon were the biggest ones. I had a shelves dedicated to them, and I had over 500 figurines, books, dolls, cards, snow globes...etc. I was bad... couldn't just collect the toys and everything. I NEEDED to keep the boxes, the plastic ties inside...everything. I would not let my mother throw ANYTHING out lol. Not to mention that I learned HTML just to make sites for my obsessions lol.

If everyone from my school remembered me for just one thing, it would most likely be my obsessions, by far. That's how most of them knew me lol. One of my friends actually said, "You have an obsession with being obsessed." I think he was right, because at one point in my life, if I wasn't obsessed, I'd feel so empty. My obsessions were my replacement friends when I didn't have any. But I love my obsessions hehe. They were always so fun!

When I was a little kid I used to collect the Airfix model dinosaurs. They came in bits you had to glue together, then paint. I had a complete set! Then I moved onto the planes — Lancasters, spitfires etc. I used to have them all hanging from my bedroom ceiling. These interests, while they lasted were fairly intense, but I never really think of them as abnormal. I also did stamps, for a while, and some other stuff.

I do that kind of thing, now. But not the geodes or minerals. I have a lot of fossils mainly from the late triassic; different species of shark and fish teeth, as well as reptile skeletal elements, that kind of thing. I think I've around 300 specimens I've collected in the last 12 months. Currently, I have several hundred pounds of very fossiliferous limestone in the garage, and need to figure out a safe system of bulk processing it with acetic acid (I've only done this with small amounts up to now). I reckon it should produce teeth in the thousands.

I have really kind gotten only five big obessions. The first is. How many of you all are into Tigers? Well that's one of my major obessions. I've had this obession since I was really young. Its been my fav all my life. I've gotten a good sized collection of tiger posters. Tiger plushies four of them. Tiger statues three so far I had more. I've got tiger blankets and I used to have a tiger rug. I also have a tiger shirt. I used to have this costume of a tiger that a wore when was young.
My second obession is the Final Fantasy series. I'm really big major fan of Final Fantasy 8. I have on my computer all sorts of Final Fantasy 8 picturet that I've gotten off the internet. I have some pictures that I've printed out to be placed on the door. I have Final Fantasy 8 Squall Leonhart's ring and necklace. I've given away my ring and I wanted it back but she never gave it back. I have Final Fantasy 7 AC Clouds cloudly wolf door knob thingy ring and I also have the three cloudy wolves that appears in the movie about three times. This obession is really trying to break out of my computer where my computer has been taken over by Final Fantasy 8. I also have Final Fantasy 7 AC movie.
My thrid obession is basically the same as the second but it isn't limited to the computer. I have all sorts of Final Fantasy series music that I've downloaded off the internet to many CD-Rs. I've got music from Final Fantasy 4 all the way to Final Fantasy X-2. I'm not going farther than X-2 because I think the other Final Fantasys are pretty sucky. Final Fantasy series music is awsome. I almost filled up my cd collection case.
My fourth obession is getting most of every soundtrack to the movies I love. I've gotten mostly music from Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, James Bond music, Spy Kids 2, music from Clint Eastwood's movies, Memoirs of a Geisha. I'm apart of a music club which I've get ten cds for the first time signing up. I've picked out soundtracks from CSI, Jurassic Park 1, Johnny English, House of Flying Daggers. The bands I like I picked Garbage and some other groups.
My fifth and final obession is writing novels. I love to write novels. I've written many but never finished but I've written four novels and they are finished. I plan to have my novels published some time this year I hope.

A lot of people seemed to like collecting coins. I used to collect coins ... a long time ago. I didn't collect actual coins, per se ... but I cut pictures of coins out of coin books and kept them in boxes.

I collect a lot of things related to rivers and floods ... books, newspaper articles. Have stacks of them.

I now collect a lot of things related to asperger's ... the same, books, articles, etc...

Most of what I collect are books and articles relating to an interest that is passionate for me. It has changed over time, but tends to remain quite steady nowadays. I have countless numbers of books that span quite a while with past interests. I had to get rid of some older ones to make way for newer ones. I just don't have much room around anymore.

I collect bottles. I also maintain an extensive list of my collection, catalogued by type. When I was a kid I collected bottle caps.

I collect stuff but a really vague kind of way, i have hundreds of videos at my parants house that are ranked, in my mind, in collections. A vampire movie collection, a gay movie collection, scifi, fantasy, buffy and angel (almost all of them)etc. however, they aren't in any order or anything, just piled up on shelves, same with my books, until 6 months ago i had literaly hundreds of books, all types, i like buying books, there were some i'd enevr read. but they were in know order.
I suspect this is due to me coming from a large family and being the oldest, people move things around, things never stay organised, i can find my stuff being moved very annoying, even now, but i think it meant that i could never comfotable organising my things, they would allways get moved again. Plus - i'm a slob.
Strangely enough, i might have my books in now order but i always knew where every single one was. And could find what i wanted really quickly.

I wasn't sure just how obsessive i was actually...i've been looking at some of the post thinking 'i'm not too bad'
Then i spent the last three days researching astronmy and the formulae for creating realistic planets. THREE DAYS! guess i am obsessive after all.
