Did you get it in a zip file? There should be a doc file that came from the archive as well. That has the marking scheme.

Can you see the yes/no boxes at the end?

There are the yes and no boxes but it's just a file, it's like a paper on the computer and you need Adobe reader to view the file. Is everyone else here getting that same thing?

I have the same question you do, Spokane_Girl. I see that there are questions to be answered, but it's like something that you print out and then mail to them for scoring. I'm not seeing anything that can be scored online.

What's everyone else seeing? :?: :?:

You said it better than me.

open the file, read the stories for each category (A, B, C) decide if something is said that's upsetting and if so note which number line. with the story file you should get a ssq answers file that tells you what was upsetting and what wasn't. it also tells you whether it was subtle or blatant. you give yourself 1 point for every upsetting statement that you caught.

I scored a 12 which is pretty average according to the scale but there were 2 sections I got completely wrong. I jotted the answers on a piece of paper so I'd have to go back and look to see which ones they were.

AS males - mean: 28.18, standard deviation: 11.78
Non-AS males - mean: 28.00, standard deviation: 10.86
Non-AS females - mean: 16.18, standard deviation: 9.30

So no significant difference between the AS and non-AS males, but a significant difference between the males and the females.

Well, in Parts A and B, Brian was talking to Amy in what could easily be construed as a patronising manner. When he sarcastically derides Amy in "line 4" of Part B, she swiftly ends the casual tone of the conversation, indicating discomfort.

Part C - That Brian asks the young lad to see the manager but doesn't even first ask him if he might be able to help could be seen as implication that he believes the shop assistant lacks the competence or authority to deal with his problem effectively. If the shop assistant takes his work seriously and is easily offended, he could see this as an insult to his ability or position.

Yes, without Adobe reader you're in trouble.

One file that it brings up is the actual test, the other file is the scoring key. If you took the empathy quotient test earlier, it looked at preferences and beliefs. This test is unique because it tests ability.

I guess I forgot to say my score, which was a 9. That's about average for someone diagnosed with AS.

SSQ: 16 and it was so hard, I over-read lines all the time.

that's not so bad if it's the SSQ you're talking about. the subtle ones were really tough. i was second-guessing myself the whole time. i would like to have NT people i know take it to see how they do.

meanwhile, the PPQ made me feel kinda dizzy. :?
