Right now, I am very into the "debate" about evolution. I really enjoy learning about evolutionary biology, and I also enjoy throwing a wrench in the usual creationist argument (I am a Christian, and I have no problem with any scientific discoveries; kind of kills the whole "evolution is atheism" notion).

I've been interested in physics/cosmology for a while; I've had Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" since I was nine (ten years).

One of my more recent interests, much less impressive-sounding than the first two, is Pokémon. I've downloaded two emulators on my laptop, and I use them to play the games. Fortunately, I do realize that most people don't enjoy it, so I can hide my geekiness when needed.

I also google conspiracy theories every now and then; they're a good laugh.

my current obsessions are:
family law (for about the last 4 years, thinking of making it into a profession)
converting my yard from grass to self-propagating flowers and edible plants
narcissistic personality disorder (for about the last 3 years, starting to wane)
legal and social implications of marriage (new, waxing obsession)

Yes, I have. It's been a while, but I've still got it. :)
Also read her book on Islam. I like her work.

Analysing the stock market.
Life and times of Jesse Livermore, the worlds greatest stock trader.
Fragrances. It's a great special interest. You can read about them and collect them and wear them. And it passes for a normal interest.

Oh yes, forgot about these. While I liked Harry Potter, I wouldn't say it went as far as a special interest. Maybe for a brief period of time. I'm a total Tolkien-head, though. Undoubtedly my knowledge of Middle Earth geography has freaked several people out.

And autism / asperger's. Forgot to mention that one. I guess 850+ posts in the span of 2 months sort of speaks for itself...

I'm a huge Potter nerd. Not only of books, but movies and expecially the video games. I pried myself on my dueling and I'm a prodigy at brewing up potions.
I was so obsessed with Lord of the Rings, even more than Harry Potter. I had the Weta collectible action figures, a cloak, an elven broach, Sting, and I even got pretty good at Elvish. There's still some Tolkien books in the bookshop I haven't read yet: The Children of Hurin and I think there's a new one out. I've read Unfinished Tales, The Silmarillion and my favourite: The Hobbit.

If you haven't read any Ian Irvine I recommend 'A Shadow on the Glass'. I'm just finishing up on it. It is an incredible read. He's actually an Australian fantasy author.

I love Cajun culture because it shows culture fusion so clearly. I ate some old-fashioned Acadian food when I was in Cheticamp a few years back. You can pretty much taste the Cajun roots without the spices.

That and the music! The accordions did some wild things when they hit Louisiana.

1) radios. I am a licensed amateur radio operator and I like to build and fix and collect radios.

2) Christianity. I know many portions of the Bible by heart and live by many of them.

3) animals and plants. I have an intimate relationship with cats and other animals, and even with trees and other plants.

That's now I'm odd, and I'm also a Finn.

What would we do without spongebob? I'm always watching spongebob and sometimes it drives my mom nuts, but I don't care. That cartoon lifts my spirits and makes me feel young. :D
