I don't like chips, dry... salty... ugh. I was raised on a huge variety of things, and am pretty open, but very decisive when I know I don't like something. I'm usually the first to know what to order at a restaurant, but I also don't like to be the one to keep people waiting.

I also don't like to eat around people, or at least people I don't know well. I don't particularly like seeing people eat either, watching TV shows about eating usually make me feel queasy (when they zoom in on someones mouth, UGH), and out loud reactions are just embarassing. Have people no self control?

Some people are way too into eating, and I just don't get it all the time.

No, I have had that same thought, that I don't like food. I like the tastes and textures of certain foods, but I don't like the fact that I need food and don't like the act of eating.

I am very picky with food. When I go to grocery stores I am amazed at so many of the things that are considered food and that I don't even think of as edible.

3. Do you have any suggestions to help me expand my diet?
When I get food I usually get the same foods every time. If I go to a restaurant I will get the same food that I've always gotten there, and when I go to grocery stores I get the same foods almost every time.

Years ago there was one type of food I liked a lot. I liked it so much that I ate it almost every meal. It was all I wanted to eat. And even years later when I'm hungry I still want that one type of food. But its producer stopped making it. 8O

After that I didn't know what to eat because I didn't like many types of food. I didn't like that, so I decided that each time I got groceries I would try to get one food item that I hadn't tried. Often it's hard for me to find something I haven't tried that I think I might like, but I realized that if I carefully walk through every food aisle of a grocery store I can usually find something. And by grocery store I do not mean Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is a horrible store to go in(for the lights, the crowds, the lines, and other reasons) and has very little variety.

Other stores carry more variety. I go to stores like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

A lot of the time I don't like the new type of food, and sometimes it is gross, but sometimes I find something I really like, and I start eating that new thing mostly.

I would never have thought of buying groceries at Wal-Mart. I thought they sold everything BUT food. Who knew?

(I've never set foot in a Wal-Mart in my entire life, and don't plan on starting now.)

I can't seem to organize my meals. I just randomly eat food when I'm hungry. It's usually healthy food, but there's just no rhyme or reason to it.

Eating it topic

I used to have pica as a child. and I would eat other strange edibles, like skim milk powder and i once even tried some weird stale pate stuff on crackers. We were rationed as kids, so much that my brother got a job in a restaurant just so he could eat. But I was not fussy, and would eat anything because the alternative was pica and hunger.

My NT kids prefer takeout, which is too expensive. They hate the same food all the time. I tell them at least it is something to eat. I consider my self a good enough cook, and i save money by eating cheap but healthy. My son works in a restaurant and has extra money for Wendy's. Blah!! ! My youngest daughter weasels money out of her father so she can get her fix of takeout. For me, no thanks.

Avoid processed, salty and artificially sweetened stuff. Pensieve's suggestions are excellent.

I eat very few things. I am a vegetarian with a sensitive gag reflex so there are very few things I can eat.

I can't eat honeydew or cantaloupe. It makes me sick for some reason.I gag and it makes me almost want to throw up if I do try to eat it.The smell of it in my face even makes me queasy.
