The DSM criteria - please clarify, someone

I mean, there is nothing about IQ in the DSM.

the DSM-IV specifies 299.00 Autistic Disorder, 299.80 Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, 299.80 Asperger's Syndrome and 299.80 Rhett's Syndrome. You are correct. It doesn't specifically mention IQ scores in any of these.

It does talk about IQ indirectly as the elaborative section on AS of the DSM talks about mental retardation and AS. Mental retardation automatically includes the consideration of IQ (specifically, an IQ score of 70 and below), as that is one aspect of the DSM-IV-TR definition of MR. For the sake of simplicity I can see why the DSM doesn't spell the criteria/definitions of disorders out in definitions of other disorders (it would make the thing long and repetitive), but that doesn't mean those criteria and definitions are not diagnostically relevant as according to the DSM-IV-TR.
