new movie coming out about a Aspi Guy,
I understand what you mean about not wanting to be patronized. Two reasons why I haven't told anyone but a handful of VERY close relatives and a couple VERY close friends is because A) I don't want to be treated like I'm stupid and B) I know most of my family will be jerks about it and not care at all
I've seen the trailer for Adam (several times now) and it was so strange because I saw myself in it--my social skills are deplorable and...eye contact? what is that? I thought the trailer was so great and it made me laugh and cry at the same time--it was a relief to see a way to possibly explain myself to others. I've been telling people about the movie, more people need to be aware of it.
Anyway, we signed up for tickets to a screening here in TX, I told my husband that we needed to see it together so hopefully that will happen. On the Fox Searchlight website, there seems to be an enthusiastic response and some venues have completely "sold out". I hope that means that they'll release this movie in more places and soon, hopefully make it available for all of us to see.

It is even scheduled next week just a few blocks from where I work.
Unfortunately, their advanced screening signup appears completely borked.

I hope they get it fixed soon.
