It's not derogatory to me because they are both so glaringly similar. Canines and humans are a lot alike in their socialibility. Watch a show sometimes on the lives of wolves living in a pack and you will see a lot of familiar behaviours.
It's so strange that two species that aren't closely related are so much alike.

The dogs in this case are really NT humans. Real dogs do spend a lot of time barking and their sense of smell is so accute they can learn things about other dogs just sniffing where one urinated.
If it were only that simple. I have had up to 5 dogs at most, have observed, and know well the pack order behaviour. With my dogs, I'm always the alpha, and I know just exactly how to reinforce my role as one. Yet, in the human society, I get trampled on and ripped apart.
Dogs kill for survival.
Humans hurt each other for the sake of seeing another in pain.
