Im not quite sure how you meant that, but if it was a joke, LOL.

As for the OP's story, I feel in much the same way sometimes, although I would more likely use some form of primate to mean to NTs, maybe im just more similar to them than you are. Good analogy.

Actually, it's not an insult to dogs if you read closely, the OP is saying human society is much like those of wolves or other canine species and I can see where she is coming from because I have noticed this myself. Dogs are very good communicators and they know exactly who has what position in the pack and they act accordingly. The ones that are lower down will bow to the ones held in higher esteem by the pack automatically. Only once in a while will one question this hierarchy and when it happens, they fight, and woe to the one who loses because the pack won't have much compassion. They act like this subconsciously, it is their instinct and allows them to survive.

If you guys had actually paid attention to detail, the topic reads, "My world, explained to NTs".

That means that she is, indeed, describing a metaphor of the way she sees the world around her. NOT how everyone else with ASD should see the world.

So before you jump on her like a bunch of crazed cats, please please PLEASE pay attention to detail; Read the topic line first, and get a clue.

Read the subject line; read the post. The prior describes an opinion piece; the latter is written as declarative fact. Please don't presume that because others don't agree with you, that they are incapable of doing things 'correctly'.

Your reading comprehension is exceedingly poor.

It's fairly clear that the OP means 'my world' as in 'an aspie's world'.

That was weird, wasn't it? A highly charged political thread is posted, then Moderator A moves it to the political forum, Moderator B engages in several postings within the thread, then Moderator C locks it because it is in the wrong forum? Odd.

Oh and I second "Jennyishere"s posting, and would like to add that you have a sophisticated sense of humor and an awesome accent :)

Well, if she's an Aspie and it's her world wouldn't that make it an Aspie's world too?

Since she makes clear that she describes Asperger's Syndrome, I would say she means that an aspie's world is also her world, and she also makes clear that it's meant primarily by NTs.

Of course, she could clarify what she means, but as she never answers any of the replies she gets...

Well, I don't see how comparing dogs to humans can be anything less than derogatory towards dogs...

especially worded this way
Quote:
...And you are alone in this world, surrounded and crowded by barking, urine-sniffing dogs....You almost never understand why or how they've gotten into so many messes, that you think would be easily avoided if they would just stop and look in front of them for but one moment. Not only do they seem incapable of figuring out what seems glaringly obvious to you...

I believe it's be more accurate to say it's akin to a life-long culture shock than to insult dogs. Plus nts have their way and we have ours. Plus its one thing to talk about your world to others but it's another to change the different world around you that is the problem with people today caring too much about what complete strangers think be yourself and don't be ashamed.

It's not derogatory to me because they are both so glaringly similar. Canines and humans are a lot alike in their socialibility. Watch a show sometimes on the lives of wolves living in a pack and you will see a lot of familiar behaviours.
It's so strange that two species that aren't closely related are so much alike.

The dogs in this case are really NT humans. Real dogs do spend a lot of time barking and their sense of smell is so accute they can learn things about other dogs just sniffing where one urinated.

If it were only that simple. I have had up to 5 dogs at most, have observed, and know well the pack order behaviour. With my dogs, I'm always the alpha, and I know just exactly how to reinforce my role as one. Yet, in the human society, I get trampled on and ripped apart.

Dogs kill for survival.
Humans hurt each other for the sake of seeing another in pain.

Killing just to kill or see someone in pain is rare. Humans kill in "self defense". We have a sophisticated system of laws that are designed to protect us so I don't see the species as evil. We go to great lengths to promote the survival of our own kind which is why populations have increased.
Being a human alpha with five dogs isn't the same as being one with five humans. I find myself getting trampled with humans, too. If I were myself only in wolf form I am sure I would be at the bottom of the wolf pack as well.

Dogs do that stuff too. Haven't you observed the behaviour of dogs? They wrestle and pretend to fight with each other, bite each other, just like humans, except we don't bite, we use our hands.
