No, i use "aspie" but that's all i've ever used in conversation. In my mind i've had some cute names pop like "aspielicious" and "aut-tastic"

I use Aspie.
In Hebrew there's a word that's a acronym that means "person of the spectrum". It was made up by people on the autistic spectrum.

I prefer Aspie over having Asperger's because I don't like the implication that you have a disease. I don't have anyone in my life I could kid around with that way.

What is it, and how is it pronounced?

I sometimes refer to myself as a robot. This relates to an incident in my childhood (I might repost this in another thread - the one about emabarassing stories although I am rather proud of it)

I was born in 1984 and as a small child I was fond of the (new at the time) the original transformers movie. In school i was pretending to be a robot. The teacher at the time didn't understand and spoke to my mother about the way I was behaving she simbly replied that I was a robot -since thats what I was pretending to be. She did not say I was pretending or playing she just said I was one. I couldn't remember this until a few years ago when my brother told my girlfriend this story (not to embarass me he seems quite proud of this incident too). Now sometimes I refer to myself to my girlfrind as a robot when refering to lack of empathy or some other charachteristic. When I think of this now I think about scenes in terminator 2 when Arnie is trying to understand human behavour and asking John Connor questions.

As a side note there is a line in the chorus of "I bet you look good on the dancefloor" by The arctic monkeys- "Dancing like a robot from 1984" Whenever I hear that line I think "Thats me".

Refering to myself as a robot seems to emphasise the positive aspects of the way I am. Does anyone else feel like a robot sometimes?

I refer to myself as having "a touch of elven blood" only to my husband, though.

Because I stumble over the word Asperger when I say it, I don't use it much. (probably trying to avoid having it sound like Ass-burger.) Instead I just usually say "Autistic" when referring to myself or my dd. My husband and I have joked with each other about things and said, "You/they wouldn't understand. Its an autistic thing."

Some other names for specific things: "Helicopter hands" are what my husband calls my hand wiggling/flapping that I do. Sometimes he teases and asks if I'm ready for take off. I know its all in fun though. My cousin also makes fun of me like that, and I make fun right back at him by "meowing" since thats a weird thing of his. (He meows a lot) (un dx'd AS) So we have a battle of the autistics in our livingroom. haha

Sometimes it can get pretty crazy in here with 3 on the spectrum, and my husband has ADHD. He gets a big kick out if when my cousin, my daughter and I all start being echolalic about the same thing or the same song. LOL When my daughter starts doing something odd, they immediately all look at me, shrug, and say.. she gets that from you.. LOL

So, not quite as much pet names for Asperger's itself, but a lot of joking and poking fun at each other.

I sometimes say, that I have AS-like qualities just, like some people have right brained or left-brained mannerisms and traits if this makes sense? Yes, many people look at me strangely when referring to my inherent qualities or traits wherein; others give me strange gestures when I've stated things in an Autistic-like manner or Aspergian form..
Honestly, we all have mannerism that are part of the Autistic spectrum so, I wished some people would not be so nitpicky and so forth.. I would like to wish everyone here a most peaceful day and all...
