Autism from flu shot?
I'm actually more concerned about the biologically active form of mercury found in the fish we pick up at the supermarket. Autism is somewhat similar to mercury poisoning, which is why they link was explored in the first place. I just wish people would look at the fish for once.
There's also the whole aspect of what we've been doing to our food products. I really want to know how much mercury you'll find in a sprig of asparagus or a can of lentils, not to mention that pound of beef. I don't think the coal-fire plants have been helping much with that.
I do agree that the genetics have been around a long time. If anything the mercury would be intensifying the effect, bringing something normally missed into greater amplification so that everyone panics.

Shot full of flu topic
I knew you were kidding. (For those of us born long before there were flu shots, MMR. etc.)
I blame my parents' genes, and the way they rolled together in that ol' autistic way!! !

Edit: people... this topic was intended as a joke only... please don't take it seriously... there is no danger (so far as we know) of developing Autism from flu shots. I was kidding. If you, like most everybody else, don't see the humor I intended in the remark, please don't worry about it.
Too late.
If you're an adult, flu shots (if they contain mercury, and a lot of them still do) actually increase your odds of developing Alzheimer's Disease. Mercury should not be in the body in any amount. At most it is a trace mineral the body uses in microscopic quantities, and a single shot using it as a preservative has hundreds of times more than the body should be exposed to.
No, I got the joke - thought it was pretty funny, too. The mention of thimerosal tripped my trigger, though.
