Terrible short-term memory. Great long-term memory. I can remember lots of useless details about lots of uninteresting subjects. :? I would say that I have a photographic memory, if only my Aspie cousin didn't put me to shame there.

Long term yes, I can remember things from when I was 2 yrs. old. Short term memory for me is spotty.

I wish I could remember things as easily as I can forget them; although I do find it's easy for me to remember statistics, trivia, and many past events, especially some past events I wouldn't mind forgetting about.

I remember virtually everything, from minor trivia about TV shows and details of books I've read to the dates of various events in my life. My memory is a major asset.

On the other hand, my memory helped hide my AS when I was in school, since academics was mostly memorization, and I can memorize lots of material very quickly. So my social problems were ignored, since such issues were not given much attention in the 70s and 80s.

Nooo, terrible memory. >_<;; Even for stuff I love. I remember a lot of kind of nebulous, impressionistic... ssstuff. But not actual things that I can say in words, so it's not really very helpful. And stuff drops out. Like chunks just fall away after a while, even if they were firmly lodged for a long time. My marbled, I lose them.

Have excellent long term memory. Visual memory takes in much detail and can retain for use whenever i want.
I also used my memory strengths like

I can remember facts and small things if I use repetition methods like flashcards, but my short term memory is terrible, I honestly can't remember things I've done 1-5 minutes ago.

In a word my short term memory is terrible but my long term memory is good. Like for instance people are amazed how well I can say recall the events in detail of my early childhood

I have a very short long term memory for experiences, I forget everything unless it was refreshed the last 5-9 years. Names, People are often the first to go, Places seem to linger the longest but everything outside my usual routes is gone.

I have a great memory for simple facts, drawings (blueprints, electrical schemes), books, phone numbers (but I forget the name and the person).

I have a photographic(ish) memory for facts, dates, trivia, strings of information, etc., but a terrible memory for instructions, chores, math, and my own life. Basically, anything pertaining to the real world, I don't retain.

I can't do the freaky childhood memory thing, but I can remember very fine details about musical songs and tunes for a very long time.

Just wanted to add 2 things:

1. Sometimes my memory is too good and unrelenting over mistakes, failures and unpleasant experiences.

2. I've learned that it's not a good thing to tell others that you have a poor memory, especially short term. Certain unsavory, unprincipled people will use this against you and take advantage of you.

My short-term memory is iffy, my long-term memory is excellent.

It varies. I can remember stuff like SpongeBob facts more easily, but some stuff I learn in school can be harder to remember.
