I just recalled some funny event from the time I attended high school. During a math lesson my friend with whom I was sharing my desk called me a wriggler – well, the problem is that “wriggler” in my language sounds very similar to “farting heel” and that was which I heard instead. I tried to hide my outburst of laughter but I almost peed in my trousers, so incredibly funny it was.   Later when outside of school she reminded me of my mistake, asking me since when according to me heels farted, I almost sat on the pavement. It became our stale joke later. One of the funniest school memories.

Ah, had this happen earlier today my partner said something and I completely misheard it, can't remember what it was, but when it comes to songs, I'm hopeless.

To give some examples:

In the 80's Prefab Sprout had a song out, the chorus went,

"Hot dog, jumping frog, Albuquerque"

But I always heard it as:

"Hot dog, jumping frog, I want cookie"

And we had to learn this song in school,

"Dance, dance wherever you may be, I am the lord of the dance said he"

Which in my version was,

"Dance, dance wherever you may be, I am the lord of the dancing-hee"

And I used to sit and wonder exactly what a dancing-hee was. I imagined it was a large wooden dancing floor with a giant horseshoe-shaped buffer around the edge!! !

tbh I'm not one for music with lyrics, I mishear them ALWAYS, so I learn the wrong version of the words and consequently embarrass myself!

A friend and I throw these back and forth all the time...it gets a little annoying sometimes, but we have a good laugh about it anyway.
