You know, it never has been. Sure, I obsess over it on and off, well, read up on it rather (this is more pointing to me ability to absorb factual data when the subject catches my eye), but it's never been my "interest" that I constantly think about and devote most of my time to.

I'm the same way with OCD, as well as other medical conditions that affect me or those close to me.

Geology, well, collecting and categorizing the rocks I pick up, and trying to learn as much about them as possible :)

History. Especially the Romans. For some reason, I have a strange obsession with Julius Caesar.. :?

Hey, lots of people list "drawing".

That would be me, as well.

I'm always carrying a sketchbook and a pen, and I draw everywhere and at all times.

I guess I didn't see it as an interest because I saw the question as "singular special fandom", or something like that.

I really don't have a specific one, I don't think... my interests jump from thing to thing depending on my mood.

I like artsy type stuff, but don't really care about what others are doing with it, lol, I'm obsessed in my own mind about what I could create with whatever is lying in front of me-whether it be posterboard, facepaint, glue and beads, etc... it doesn't matter, I'll make use of it in some way.

The other thing, I suppose... is information about serial killers or as someone else mentioned, crime in general. I watch a lot of TruTV (formerly CourtTV) and enjoy it thoroughly... but stories about serial killers really get me curious. Maybe it's just the whole idea of "how could they get away with it for so long?" coupled with the fact that it's usually something super tiny that gets them caught... some of them are interesting because they make it a "puzzle" or "riddle" to catch them... things like that. I really dunno why I like those things so much... I just do.

mine would have to be plotting stories....I would say writing stories but actually getting them written down is very difficult for me. I know every detail about the stories that I write and I know what's going to happen but I can't translate my thoughts into words. However if someone asks me a question about it then I can go on for awhile explaining the details.

If I had to give a different specialty, it would have to be playing with technology. I don't really care how the parts work together but I luv playing with new technology that comes out. I do some research on new toys coming out and when it does I have to have it in my hands to test.

I didn't mean as a singular interest, but as a general one.

Mine are: Scientific theories, random scientific concepts (rail guns, etc), science fiction (particularly giant robot), sci-fi to real life applications, random math problems, crypotogram puzzles (like crypotquotes), sudoku puzzles, video games, card games (CCGs/TCGs), RPGs . . . and my interest will shuffle between these thought the weeks/months/years.

As silly as it might sound to some...mine is Power Rangers.

Really. It's not one of those things I expected to get into when it started, but I ended up hooked on day one at the age of 13, and I still love it even now. I've taped every episode and keep a detailed list of those, I've collected a whole lot of the toys and other merchandise, I even attended the first ever PR convention two years ago and have met some of the cast members, and intend to go to the next one next year. I'm not perfect on my knowledge of canon, since there's just so much of it and there have been some seasons I haven't been all that crazy about, but I still know a fair bit about the ones I love.

But most importantly, I clung to it throughout high school, as it gave me the escapism I desperately needed when I had to endure so much bullying and harassment from my peers. It also gave me a handful of characters I very closely identified with and provided me with the inspiration to keep going throughout all of that. No one else knew about it at the time (which was intentional--I didn't need the bullies using it against me), but these days, I'm not too afraid of showing my love for it, since I know there are plenty of other fans out there my age and older.

Music, with different aspects coming into greater focus in my mind at various times. Currently I am thinking a lot about why all the music theory courses I've seen focus so much on harmony and ignore the other elements of music (rhythm especially; much music is characterised by what it does rhythmically, and rhythm speaks to humans on a visceral level. It makes no sense to neglect it so badly).

I have several that rarely overlap... I tend to flow from one to the next in a circular cycle of repetition. They are; yarn and crocheting, jewelry making, numerology, the jinn, certain personality disorders, pythons, puzzles of many types, music, drawing, sock puppets, genealogy and writing stories. For awhile I was really into vegan diet, but I have yet to come back to that... Oh I forgot religions... I get really caught up in religions every few years.

I've had five special interests that have been primary obsessions, ones where it was all I literally thought about and wanted to talk about. I Love Lucy is my biggest special interest overall, but my current primary obsession, the one I must ramble about, is the YouTube series "Is it a Good Idea to Microwave This?"

I seem to be very interested in 'Aspie Movies' at the moment and of course I want to get them ALL.

I bought Mozart and the Whale on ebay and will be seeing Adam at the movies.

Any more?
