Yeah, I think I do it too. Not sure exactly to what extent, though...

Technically, I don't do this. Nothing that one says can be offensive if there's no one around to hear it.

Damn right I do.

Occasionally, I am less than sufficiently careful about who is within earshot, but - what the hell - I can always skip town.

Yes, I do this quite often. Mostly it's when I think back on some social situation that went less than perfect, but sometimes it's just when I'm by myself, for instance, walking to class. It's not loud or disruptive, just muttered under my breath, and if I'm around people I can make myself think it instead of say it (but not for too long, or I forget to keep my face neutral). "F***ing s***" seems to be the only phrase I do this with. If it's not in response to thinking about something I messed up, it's actually a little fun and good stress relief.

Oh yes! Every single day! And i do it with people around, but not so they can hear me, except one person whom i hope hears me. I am just too sorry to say it to her face. I really wish i had the courage to!

Bluntness ftw, I say it directly to people. Though I also talk and discuss things out loud with myself. Had to learn to tone that down when I joined, it "freaked" people out. I don't know why, I don't see why arguing differing aging theories with myself would be annoying to people nearby, I don't talk THAT loud.

The random high pitched cackling I can see being somewhat annoying though. But that's just fun, cackling I mean, not randomly annoying people. Though that does have its own appeal too... Dammit, this just seems to be a win-win situation, if the embarrassment of people looking at you like you're loony (which is a perfectly acceptable response, after I learned what people are taught by movies and lunatics) and then you get "counseled" by your OIC.
