Same here (I'm nearsighted). I think it happens because without glasses, it's more work for the brain because it automatically tries to make out the objects in your field of view. Closing your eyes should help.

It makes sense that you hear better with your eyes shut. I think it's like that for everyone, but for Aspies, when there's visual input, the brain has to multitask which makes it harder for both inputs to be processed.

absolutely

I make electronic music. but in my mind I'm making 3d pictures. only thing I would disagree with is that it's easier for me to visualize sound in complete darkness with my eyes open because when I try to keep them shut, all of a sudden I'm noticing how much pressure I'm using to keep them closed or the spots on the back of my eyelids glowing and reacting to the pressure.

some bands specialize in this type of music production. KMFDM has always been my favorite inspire of their gruff message. also I would recommend the album 'risotto' by fluke. that one is good for any occasion.

Unlike with most people, my hearing range and hearing ability does not noticeably grow when my eyes are closed. If anything, especially my hearing is better with my eyes open as more input keeps me focussed (ADHS-thing I think).

I cannot report of any phenomenon such as that other sensory impressions grow stronger when I reduce visual input by closing my eyes, as I already am very open to sensory stimuli such as hearing what others cannot hear or feeling what others shut out usually. I imagine that there are of course as with everybody else slight enhancements of my auditory processing when my eyes are closed, but I don't notice them usually.
