Well actually I've been thinking of Asperger's as a separate evolution branch but I admit I haven't been taking myself seriously.
Aspies aren't very likely to procreate for a variety of reasons - or weren't until very recently - when the idea of 'smart is the new sexy' emerged, when science, engineering and computing became professions that could bring money enough to support a family and when work from home (or any other form of working without having to go to a workplace) became possible.
I'd venture to say that the society may become more 'Aspergerised' in the future but I don't think I'll take it that as to view Aspies as superheroes.
