not me. i hate holidays, really hate them, and the older i get the more i hate them because everybody else is having a good time and i'm by myself always. what's worse is at this rate i would rather be alone than deal with people.

my friend wants me to come over but i feel like crap. i don't feel like sitting here either though. times like these i wish i could just kind of cease to exist.

Well when I grew up this day was called "All Saints Day". The idea was to pay the cemetary a visit and honour the dead people who is dear to us
We used to put candles on the graves, its very beautiful actually. I really regret I didnt go this year and light a candle for my grandmother who died this year

I took this photo last year. Its from a "joint memory area" but there used to be candles placed on single graves too

Wow! That looks amazing! Very beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for sharing.

Me really. Went to see Saw 6, but would have done anyway probably, Halloween or not. Loads of people around Oxford were dressed up though, was quite funny. Part of me wanted to join in.

Used to celebrate it but not anymore, too old for trick or treating now.

I watch horror movies at least once a week (usually more) throughout the year and am currently reading a horror book as well, so I'm also just going to be myself. I watched 3 horror movies yesterday and I'm about to watch another one once I'm sure there are no more trick or treaters. Horror movies rock!

I have to hand out candy every year to the few kids that stop by my house because my room is at the front of the house so they always come to my door to knock. It's annoying because I can't really read or watch anything during that time because I don't know when I'll get interrupted and I find it hard to get back into it once I've had to stop. Also stressful because someone knocking on my door always makes me nervous even if I'm expecting them.

Again the few people I somewhat consider friends forgot about me and so I didn't get invited to anything. I probably would have gone though, I like dressing up in costumes.

I already have my "no more candy" notice on the front door.

I just didn't feel like it this year. I wonder why.

I don't do Halloween. Turns out that this is the first weekend in well over a month where (so far) nobody has asked me to hang out or do anything. The other people on my floor seem to be laughing, partying, and having a "good time" - whatever that's supposed to mean.

The moral is that Halloween is, after all, a social activity. I only "don't do" Halloween because nobody has ever asked me to do Halloween with them. Certainly, if people wanted me to do Halloween type things with them, I wouldn't automatically say no due to any sort of bias against the holiday.

I don't do Halloween either. I think I just don't have the inclination to. Was out with some guys tonight but it was nothing to do with Halloween. It's just as well I was out as I have no desire to have kids at the door and no desire to have to interact with them.

We dont celebrate it here in Australia. Some kids might go around doing the trick or treat thing probably cos they saw it in a movie or something.

There were some kids came to the door last night carrying a bag. I didnt even answer the door cos i wasnt in the mood. my first thought is they were trying to sell something and wow what a weird time to be selling something! It didnt twig til later on.

We sort of do. We have Halloween dress up parties. No tick or treaters came to my house last night, so I just ate all the candy. Sometimes we get them, sometimes we don't.
When I was little I went trick or treating in perhaps one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in town. I had no idea it was at the time.

Put on costume hoping one of my alleged friends would invite me to something. Handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Took off costume after no call. Cried in dark. Ate remainder of trick-or-treat candy. Posted on Wrong Planet about it all.

That sums up my night.

Yesterday evening, I drank green tea with pomegranate while reading a good book, which I finished. I browsed around on the internet, sent my boyfriend S an e-mail, and chatted with him on the phone. S, who is a medical student, spent the evening studying with friends, then playing Halo with them. Neither one of us did anything special for Halloween.
I enjoyed my Halloween night. While I was curled up with my tea, and my novel, I reflected on what a pleasant way that was to spend an evening, far more pleasant for me than some noisy, crowded party could ever be.
I honestly don't care that I spent my Halloween night in a manner that would be regarded as more appropriate for an 82 year old than a 28 year old. I enjoyed my evening, and that's good enough for me.
