Is it just me or is it an Asperger's thing?

I've just recently been diagnosed and now AS has become my new "obsession". All I've been doing is reading, talking, and thinking about it.

I'm finding that I keep analyzing everything I do and everything I think. Is this common?

Here are the things I've been wondering about:

1. Certain things annoy the crap out of me. Especially people eating. I hate people crunching. I share a space with other people at work and I can identify who someone is without seeing them by the way the are crunching. I'm am so sensitive to the sound that I have to leave my office. I also can't tolerate wrappers crinkling. I don't go to the movies often just because of this.

2. I freak out when I get in line somewhere and people are not lined up orderly. I hate it when they don't move up or if they leave a space.

3. Sometimes I don't participate in conversations, but other times I will go on and on.

4. I don't like it when people bug me at work, I really want them to leave me alone so I can get stuff done.

5. I don't rock back and forth or flap my hands (my Dr. asked me about this), but I do the following:
Stand on my toes then back to my heels, back and forth
Move my toes back and forth and make a "cracking" sound
Rub my thumb and middle finger together
Wring or twist my hands
Tear paper or labels, fold them, twist them, etc.

Are these considered "Stims"?

6. I have conversations in my head, constantly.

7. I have a little trouble driving, I can only drive on roads I'm familiar with. I have trouble merging, I get confused and can't figure out where to go.

8. I have a dry sense of humor. Usually I keep it to myself because people don't get it.

Just wondering if any of these are typical or if I'm just related everything I do to AS?

:?

1. Yes but I am not annoyed by the same sounds as you
2. No but it is annoying when people don't move up but I ask myself would it make the line go any faster if they didn't leave a five foot gap or a three foot gap? They are still in front of me and when the lines moves, they will be moving too. My turn won't come any faster. I try and use logic.
3. Yes
4. Sometimes
5. Yeah but I have different stims
6. Yeah
7. Sometimes. I drive slower until I can get on the road and someone always lets me on. I do the same for other drivers because I know how annoying it is to drive the same speed and you can't get in the lane and the lane you're in is about to end. I use driving directions to get to places and I have a good sens of direction so I am able to find my way back if I make a wrong turn. If a road is too busy and I need to get to the other side, I turn right and then turn off and turn back onto the road so I can go left which would be right. I also turn into the turning lane so I can get on the other side when I am going left.
8. I have no idea. People don't always know I am joking so maybe off and on. People have to know me well to know I am kidding. I always let people know something was a joke. I had to look it up to see what it was.

Thanks everyone, this is great feedback.
Concerning # 3 on my list, I did it again last night. My significant other's friends came over and somehow the subject of cats came up. I went on and on, probably boring everyone to death. But at dinner, I don't think I said a single word. I could not think of anything to say, and couldn't wait to get home.

At least you have some awareness people might be board about your cats.

I don't really understand why it's rude to tell people you aren't interested because they know you're not interested anyway just by reading your body language. I don't even see the point in double meanings if people know what you mean anyway. People say things like"lets do it sometime" and they mean never do it with you and "Lets be friends"meaning I don't want to be your friend and have nothing to do with you and "we'll let you know" meaning I don't want you and won't hire you. Their excuse is they don't want to hurt your feelings but you know what they mean anyway when they say them. But us aspies tend to take those meanings literal until we are told what they mean. Sometimes we figure out on our own what a sentence means.

I can't really take credit for the awareness, my partner was nice enough to point it out to me later. :x
