descrtiption of perfect sensory room for adults.
I go minimalist, the only thing on my living room/dining room walls is a mirror. I have a couch with very wide arms and bakc that are solid enough to sit drinks on, so that eliminated the need for coffee tables. My furniture is from Ikea, which all have minimalist design to thm. My lamps are the halogen floor lamps that used to be very popular, but got phased out because they were a fire hazard when they got to close to the curtains. They are basically nondescript. Both these rooms, where I do most of my living in the house, has no patterns of any kind, but I did paint the walls with warm colors. The basic palate for my rooms is close to this:
My carpet is short berber, like the kind you see in a doctors office, with a few colors that mix together that make it look like a light tan.
The brown and burnt orange colors are dark, which is why I got the halogen torcheire floor lamps, one being a 300w lamp, and that is a lot of light from one source.
Other than that, nothing fancy. I would have considered crown molding if it wasn't for the line where the ceiling meets the wall being crooked.
If I've picked all the paper work that lay's around the rooms, the most cluttery looking thing is the coat/hat rack I have sitting in the corner.
It's all very low maintenance.
