I have plenty of short-term special interests, too many to list. he main special interest from my childhood, which continues in a subdued manner today, is vampires. Fiction, folklore, whatever.

This was a problem.

I was not diagnosed with AS until I was 24. But I had the joy of starting meds and 'therapy' at ten. The vampire obsession was considered an obsession with death, and an indicator of how crazy I am.

I really, really grew to hate that this was a special interest of mine. I learned to suppress it, but it usually comes back eventually.

Now that Twilight is a Thing?

I really, really hate that this trash disguised as vamp fiction is mucking up my special interest and causing people to think I like to read crap books.

I mostly keep the vampire obsession to myself for the above two reasons. Mostly because of Twilight these days, though. Blech.

for me it's like this:

Main Interests:

1. Toys
2. History/Cultural History
3. Economics/Economic History

More Casual:

1. Entertainment Industry--movies, music, classic sitcoms( kinda intertwined with #2, technically)
2. Business

What's 'at say about me?
