zed, that would be cool to have a phone built into tv set. but with that how will u speak to person since theres no microphones built into tv's and if want to do video u have to have some form of image capture device for both people. great idea though i hope directv does something like that next or some form of email program such as webtv. if directv does that, and enables im, email, phone, and other stuff i think the only thing me and my dad would get up for is to go to bathroom.

Actually, my set does have a microphone built into it for voice. The speaker acts as the ear-end of the receiver.

I really get stressed out when people use my computer etc. They never leave things as they found them

The TV's a 19" Zenith made in 1983. Got it brand new off the showroom floor this summer. It was worth $700 retail. No wonder it took 22 years to sell!

OnStar's cool too. My last car had it. It was fun to brag about my car having its own phone number.

ohh cool, about onstar i joked with my dad i wonder whats nect the truck having its own zip code or mailing address?? onstart already does a scan on ur vehicle for problems much like an antivirus scanning a computer. it would be nice if zenith made more tv's with that all the zeniths i see are just tv only with maybe the v-chip. hard to use a diffearnt maker because my dad loves nothing but jvc. we already have a 36 in sq. flat screener now. i think if i was into phones and electronics id make an input device somewhat like a webcam used for computer but operated like a vcr or dvd player by remote so all you do is turn it on then a "buddy list or contact list" comes up and using remote you dial the number then select dial and after other person picks up using their device or phone or video phone or computer you can have webcam chat with them.

would sound pretty cool wont it??
