I don't have a really strict routine. I have my favorites, which I order pretty consistently, but once in a while I'll try something different. However, sometimes that "new" item will become a favorite and will be ordered on a regular basis. I also tend to eat each item before moving onto another, i.e., I'll eat the burger before eating the fries. And I usually eat the protein first (but that has more to do with something I learned in a health class than anything else).
I also prefer everything to be oriented a certain way. If the table before me was labeled like a clock (analog, not digital...
), my drink would be at 1 o'clock, utensils at 4 o'clock, and the food I'm eating at 6 o'clock (I rotate the plate for each item).
I don't
have to eat like this, but it is what I tend to do.
The one thing that doesn't vary is using my left hand when eating foods I grab with my fingers (french fries, chicken nuggets, chips, etc.), even though I'm right-handed.
I always have protein first too. It fills you up more.
