AdderaLL with the XL is pretty much the same as Vyvanse. I did better growing up with repeated dosages of an SR formula, but refused to take those post-methamphetamine usage which, with all of the side effects, seemed to turn me into some echo of the person I can be. And the pharmocological treatments feel too similar for my comfort, without the level of efficacy.

Vyvanse turns me into a zombie, and SR drugs make me feel like I am almost, but not quite, high. So I refuse both. I'm sure that Vyvanse would be the better choice, however, judging from the base reaction, excluding the feelings of a drug abuser. It is far more modulated. However, if you are comparing it to Adderall XR, I don't believe that there is a significant difference. Apparently, Vyvanse is not supposed to activate the pleasure centers of the brain, yet I did not experience any difference comparing mood, and functionality remained the same.

I'm on Adderall XR.
Now and then I skip a day b/c of financial reasons.
I read that sideaffects of going off it include being tired and depressed. Oddly enough (or concerning enough), the days that I'm off it, i'm like Tazmanian Devil. I'm super happy (maybe euphoric), have this tight sort of feeling in my head, and cannot sit still to save my life. This sounds like the polar opposite of what everyone says will happen if you go off it. So I wonder if this is even the drug I should be on.

today i didn't take it and have just been nuts crazy full of energy, feeling like a chimp, you know when they grin and swing their heads back and forth very fast. and my hands and feet and throat are like shackled dragons on speed.

Vyvanse was supposed to replace the extended release form of Adderall. From what I've read the main difference between Vyvanse and Adderall XR seems to be that there's less potential for recreational use of Vyvanse

I've only been on Vyvanse for one week. Combine this with the fact that I'm still on summer vacation and it's no surprise that I haven't observed any noticable difference yet. In this time I've had boughts of dry mouth, one afternoon of a bad headache/dizziness, and perhaps some increased perspiration. I'm glad I didn't have anything serious like the pharmacy information includes.

I know even less about Adderall.

Finding the right medicine for ADHD Inattentive/other neurological challenges such as the many epilepsies has been described as a crap shoot.

All one can do is to keep a medicine diary and slowly, over time, figure out what a medicine does/doesn't do/possible side-effects, and so on.

It's impossible, in advance, to know exactly which medicine works the best or if any medicines will work at all.

Historically the central nervous system stimulants - alerting agents (examples: Coffee, caffeine compounds, Ritalin, Dexedrine, Adderall, Vyvanse, and so on) are associated with the temporary reduction of some ADHD symptoms for some users (not everyone). None of these medicines are cures at all.

That's my understanding.

When I was 10, I took Adderall. It made me lose my appetite, which in turn, made me lose weight when I was supposed to gain weight. It made me feel like a zombie and unproductive, so I went off of it when I turned 11.

I had to switch from Adderall XR to Vyvanse a couple days ago for financial reasons and have been feeling nauseous and not all that better in concentration. and been feeling particularly aggressive, almost morbidly so...but that could just be life stuff. i just usually feel defeat/depression at life s**t rather than urge for revenge.

Never tried Vynanse. Brand-name Adderall XR is the best stimulant I've used, I was on Ritalin/Concerta before and it was BAD.

What's the difference between those two drugs?

Vyvanse is dextroamphetamine coupled with the amino acid L-lysine.
