Both my parents are lefties; I'm ambi and my brother is a rightie. I got told in school to "pick a hand", so I looked at all the children in my class and the majority of them were writing using their right hand, so I did. I kick with my left foot, I throw and catch with my left hand, I iron with my left hand, and I tend to scroll on my laptop mouse pad with my left hand. I peel vegetables with my right hand, and still write because I've done it for so long that my left hand muscles are weak. If I could be bothered I'd be able to tone them up.

Right, but 3 out of 5 people in my immediate family are left-handed.

I am cross-dominant. I am left eye dominant and left footed, I write best right handed but can write either handed. Also I eat left or right handed, I don't favor either one for eating. I work in an optical lab where the job requires strong math and science, I have noticed over the years that the field attracts a lot of cross dominant people. I have also noticed that when I find that someone is cross-dominant they also have more autistic traits, not autistic, but traits. In our lab setting we use equipment similar to a microscope, where you have to put your dominant eye to the lens, therefore it is easy to tell who has a left dominant eye. I have always been interested in this subject, so i notice everyone at work. I have found that the cross-dominant are more anal than the fully left or right handed people. They tend to not care what others think and will gladly do their work and do it right. They aren't into the politics of work or the gossip that goes on in most work places.

My brother is left handed and NT. So was my dad's mum and my cousin Charlotte. My aspie uncle Ray is left handed. So I have 4 left handers in my family. And one is immediate kin and the other 3 are all on my dad's side.

I, on the other hand, do every thing right handed but golf and bat in baseball/softball/cricket.

Your thread title will skewer the results of your poll a bit. People who are left handed are probably more likely to respond.

I sincerely hope no one ever takes forum polls at face value.

I write/draw with my right hand, but swing things (baseball bats, golf clubs, etc) in the way that's apparently considered "lefty." Though mostly I consider myself a righty.

I'm right-handed, but really clumsy. So I say as a joke that I am "ambisinistrous"

I am generally right-handed, but I swing a bat from the left and I kick with my left foot. As a welder, however, I can easily do the work using either hand in any position.

I do different things with each hand (making me cross-dominant).

Right-hand: writing right way up and as my real name, using a fork, using mice, playing guitar, opening doors, operating things like crossing buttons.

Left-hand: writing sideways, upside-down and/or as my internet psuedonym, using a knife or eating hand-held food, tennis, emphasising verbal statements, adjusting music players on the move.

I kick with both feet, type with both hands and have certain traits from both hemispheres of the brain.

I am ambidextrous, but I tend to have preferred hands for different activities.

I write in the Roman alphabet with my right hand, but I write in Hebrew and Chinese with my left.

My knife skills are predominantly right, because my serrated edge knives all have right-handed bevels, but I will often switch hands on a task like boning, rather than turn the bird/roast.

I bat and golf left. In racquet sports, I am equally incompetent with both hands.

I've been left-handed since birth. I showed intense preference for my left hand from infancy on. I'm the only leftie in my family other than two of my mother's cousins, who inherited their left-handedness from their side of the family I'm not related to. I strongly believe in the testosterone theory of certain neuropsychiatric disorders and certain cases of left-handedness. I think that, in my case, my left-handedness clearly points to neurobiological abnormalities.

If I write with my left hand it comes out completely backwards but readable if you hold a mirror to it.
