Looking back at College I think Psychology was a special interest. My fun was finding the research for papers and finding quotes to use putting a little of myself in the paper and so on. Whether I'd find Psychology fun a 2nd time around I'm not sure. Someone here on WP said I was obsessed with my Psychology teacher (which could of been right I've read here that some Aspies get obsessed with a person) LOL! :-( I know Psychology was ALL I talked/thought about which my parents HATED my "obsessiveness." (Parents don't understand special interest and my obsessiveness) Sadly as they say I it was narrow I was more interested in doing papers on killers and wanted to read my teachers dissertation while I DID get A's I didn't care about the curriculum but I have good study skills so honestly I could probably study anything and be successful at it. :-)

I have various to various degrees, swords, Palladium Books RPG's, dinosaurs, cars, kung fu, and whatnot.

Mainly though, I've been obsessed since I learned (at age 6) that there is a hole in physics (the mismatch between Quantum and Relativistic realms), that just won't do, I decided.

My interest is linguistics at the moment. It's been biology, computer programming, and website design at various points throughout the past few years. And now I'm starting to slide into the more narrow realm of conlanging (making your own languages).

That's Fascinating!:)

There are some varied topics I'm interested in but it looks in this way that for a day or a couple of days I am concentrated on one or at best two of them - I am especially fascinated with one topic from the list (made recently by me) for like two days, the next few days are devoted to something else and so it goes.

Like on Monday I can be interested in online contests, Tuesday is a day in which I am trying to get all the knowledge available from the field of psychopathy, Wednesday is for the world of some literary work or a movie/movie series (my most recent fascinations of this kind are Storm of the Century, Peter Pan, Sandman, Garfield, Twin Peaks, Gone, Sandman, X-Men, Terminator, L. M. Montgomery and The Other Circle Chronicles), on Thursday I am obsessed with the African culture, on Friday my major interest is writing fanfiction on the literary/movie worlds I am into, Saturday is an Asperger Syndrome day, Sunday is an Iceland culture day and so on.

My interests tend to not change over the course of time. But for Africa and its culture, my most recent (and for obvious reasons completely new) obsession is the Smoleńsk catastrophe in which the president of my country together with his wife and the most prominent politicians from Poland died.

Toastmasters? I thought it was Routemasters? Or was it a typing error because you were hungry?

I'm still interested in Routemasters, as well. That was a typo.

Are there aspies out there who have many topic of interests? Is it uncommon for someone with aspergers to have no real in depth information about their topic of information.

There are lots of things I'm interested in, but only up to a certain level. For example, I love science, watch science shows, subscribe to science magazines... but have zero interest in seeing much less learning the math behind it, or the diagrams of how it works, or the details of the chemical reactions, or how the experiments were carried out, etc. For this reason, I do NOT subscribe to Scientific American, which is filled with that sort of stuff.

Like with most other things, I think there's a wide range that's totally normal for us in this area. Medical and psychiatric types often don't want to describe things in terms of ranges, and the media certainly doesn't, so we keep hearing these proclamations that make it sound like we're all exactly the same way in a bunch of areas when in fact we're not.

My topic of interests include, understanding human behaviour in general, the origin of our species, theories of creationism and evolution, epigenetics, nutrition, our endocannabinoid system, neuro endocrinology, astrology, aspergers its self and possible causes, etc etc.

Researchers I have looked into include Simon Baron Cohen, alan snyder, jill bolte taylor, patrik flanogan, to name but a few.

In many ways I'm very right brained and artistic, but I am also very logical, even if I can memorise endless facts, but what I like to do is interpret the science that I learn esp around the human mind aswell as feeling and human experiences that I have into creative writing, merging the left and right hemisphere. I wonder if theres others who do this on this forum,or is it just me? I will explain and maybe edit later, but I guess everything comes a bit at a time. :)

My special interests are currently: psychology, poetry, writing, philosophy, the United Nations, and our juvenile justice system.

Contrary to popular belief, not all aspies have special interests and, if they do, the intensity varies between people.
