Noone cares about them, so I don't have to hide

Yes I now do.

One of my brothers winds me up about it and I can`t find the words to defend myself.
That causes a lot of difficulty between us. I need to be diagnosed so I can give him a leaflet. :D

It really depends upon the situtation, the venue and the company that I am with.

I feel unable to talk about my special interests around my family alot, due to the fact that they will let me know that I am obsessed with the person or subject. I had a big blowup with my sister on Facebook about this the other day when I posted a video regarding one of my special interests.

On the other hand, there are things I would not share with certain people due to the embarassing nature or criticism of the interest.

In many cases I only feel comfortable sharing my interests with my friends, the people from church and volunteering, people from work, or online.

In person, I generally hide it as I don't want to look like I am crazy, but on the internet, I don't. It doesn't matter because I can be myself and nobody cares. Most of the time I try to keep it relevant, like Star Wars in a forum designated for that subject. But other than that, it depends on where I am and who I am with.

I'm practically pretty much the same.

No. I don't talk about them as much as I used to, but I certainly don't hide them by any means.

I hide my special interests from some people. Some would think I waste time with my useless special interests

I do hide mine because I know not everyone wants to hear the same things over and over. I am also obsessed about ASDs but too embarrassed to even talk about it. Only time I talk about it is if someone else is interested in it or if they don't mind hearing about it.

I don't know how to talk about much besides my cat and the cats at work in real life. So, no, I don't hide it. Everyone who talks to me for any period of times knows.

I don't hide them so much as I really don't talk about them much with other people. And since I have little else to say otherwise....I usually don't talk much; otherwise, I will start babbling on like an idiot....

I don't talk about my interests unless I know the other person is also interested.

At home I hide the interest if I think or know my family disapproves. For example last night I was watching Pokemon clips on Youtube, but I paused the clip when I felt that a family member came near.

no no, I never do that.

As I always tell people about me: the toys--the action figures, and cartoons & all that--comes with the territory

I don't hide them. Why would I hide something that is so important to me and that brings me so much joy?

My special interests aren't particularly secret but I wouldn't go talking about them unless I figured the listener was interested.......for one thing, once I get started it's hard for me to stop, so they'd best like the subject because by the time I'm done their enthusiasm will be sorely taxed, unless I meet my double. Actually, my obsession with music is quite handy here because there are lots of people who share the passion with me, though not all of them want to know the minute technical details that I can drivel on about. I'm safe as long as I remember to keep everything I say really shallow. :(

like I said, it's why I just don't say much.

I pretty much just keep to myself for the most part. As I always tell people "unless you really want to hear about action figures, history, or economics for three hours, I really have nothing else to say".

My special interest involve pop music & comedy music some of witch is extremely offensive. I do not exactly hide this but I don't really talk about it offline in public places either because it's not appropriate. People get weirded out when a 27 year-old guy is singing Miley Cyrus parodies that have very perverted lyrics  If you wer to see my music collection; you would not believe that I am straight-edge & a borderline asexual 8O
