I've always had seizures in my sleep. I also get sleepy at the most unacceptable times. Like sometimes in the mornings at work, or in the afternoons at work. When I'm sleepy in the evenings, well, that's not exactly unacceptable, I guess, since I'm at home.

Does anyone else get this? What is it?

Yes- very similar experience here, at least. I will wake from a dream trying to grab hold of things that I was dreaming about, scrambling about my bed grasping for something that is not there. Either that or I will awake with a start and jump out of bed without really knowing why and without being fully awake yet.

I have read quite a bit about 'spiritual enlightenment' and these sort of nighttime disturbances are sometimes associated with a human 'spirit' that is in contact with the more ethereal realms. Don't know if this is any consolation or not :)

I used to sleepwalk very regularly. I would wake up outside, in the barn, the living room or in the car. I would also wake up holding objects from the kitchen or bathroom with no recollection of having retrieved them. Worried the piss out of my parents. I also used to fall asleep to rocking sensations or not fall asleep at all, spending the entire night in a sort of semi-suspended trance going wild in my imagination.

Nowadays I just wake up with a start sitting straight up in bed, or I don't wake up at all and turn off my alarm in my sleep. Then I wake up to my coworker calling me asking me where the f^(# I'm at.

Thanks for reply. I've never sleep-walked before, but I've certainly been doing this dashing out of bed thing, since I was about 17. I do it more so in the summer, not so much winter (that I do not know why). But I also do what you said - wake up searching for something what isn't there. I've done that many times - I've even had a little silent meltdown in my head because I couldn't find this ''thing'' I was looking for - until I realised it's just me doing it again, then I grin nd fall asleep again. I'm just a bit reluctant to sleep with a man, in case I run out of bed and switch the light on and stand there looking around the room. He might wake up and wonder what the hell I'm doing - it might even freak him out.

Although I've never sleep-walked in my entire life, sometimes I panic and worry in case I might start doing it, or is that possible if you've never done it before? I just get scared in case I might sleep-walk to the woods, or to the lonely abandoned house in my town, and I might wake up there and have to find my way back out again..... It really scares me s**t. It only happens to children, and if you never dne it as a child, it's not possible to start doing it, right??

I don’t have Epilepsy but for the last few years I have had occasional running legs when lying down (usually when I have been walking for hours and then relax).

However, with the amount of stress I have been under for the last few months the running legs increased from a few time a year to a few times a month, to a few time a week. Then rather than running they jerk up and down (sometimes one sometimes both).

Not only the legs but about a month ago the arms and then pelvis joined in with laughing fit for no reason. I felt intense unexplainable happiness with the laughter but I am depressed at the moment. I Googled symptoms as I know someone with Epilepsy that has laughing fits (amongst others). It seems to fit Galactic Seizures (a form of Epilepsy) but 2 GPs say it is not Epilepsy just stress.

On Friday night though I started talking in my sleep (I was only aware of doing so once or twice on Friday). Then the next night I spoke in my sleep over 25 times with jerks most of the time and sometimes laughter. I was falling sleep within about a minute of the previous wake-up and this went one for almost an hour.

I have been having flashbacks (separately) but they have been the main source of wording I come out with. I wake as I am speaking and it is so clear most of the time, not murmured. I had a couple of talking bits on Sunday night but no more since but I still get the jerks to some degree – mostly my legs. When asleep I was only really ½ asleep I think as I was thinking or having flashbacks awake then dropping off and the words I were thinking or flashbacking just a couple of mins before were coming out of my mouth. I don’t think I sleep-talk that much normally and I have never been so clear in it when I woken to find myself sleep-talking.

Anyway - some nights I've often found myself waking up from quite a strong dream (without remembering what it was), and something in my sleep had really convinced me that there's a big, huge spider on my wall, so I involuntary run out of bed and switch the light on, then look around the room for the ''spider''. Yes, that happens to me.
I've also woken up and can see green patches of light. Like a little aurora.

I get worried in case I start to wet the bed when I'm half awake but half asleep and dreaming.
I haven't wet the bed since I was 2 (I was potty-trained early), so I think that I have quite a strong conscience what automatically prevents me from weeing in my sleep (well, it's been working all these years), but I keep on thinking that that part of my brain might stop working (don't trust AS!! !) and I start weeing the bed or something. I don't know if it's just me worrying again, but something like that it likely to happen to me because I'm not that lucky.

I do strange things now in early hours of the morning. I wake up quickly and find myself feeling around for something that's not there, then laying back down and sulking inwardly because I ''haven't found it''. Then I fall back asleep quickly I get cross with myself when I remember doing it. So if I've started doing that, what if I start dreaming about weeing the bed, then waking up soaking wet for real? That will be embarrassing!

Can suddenly weeing the bed after years and years of not weeing the bed suddenly happen, or does the natural conscience in your brain stick with you for the rest of your life, until you get Alzheimer's?
