I'd like to meet one. We'd be sweet mechanical couple

I would love to be hugged by a giant teddy bear, because I like the feeling of some of their fabrics and/or fur. The panda bear plush that I got at Build-A-Bear is really soft - even his PJs are soft!

But, I do like hugs from humans, too. When I hug some people, I feel a sense of warmth, and it's a very nice feeling. I love to give hugs, too, but I always ask first if I can hug them or not (EX: "Would you like a hug? You look sad."). I know that some people don't like to be touched or hugged, which is why I ask first.

I'd like to hug a girl. It doesn't matter how she looks - as long as she's warm and affectionate.

My arms are hairy.

That machine sounds really weird. I'd much rather have a human. :(

melbi....you might want to try a weighted blanket. You can get them very heavy (like 15 lbs). It may not replace a hug but it will help with your need for deep pressure. If you know anyone "crafty" or if you yourself are you could make your own. You can buy the supplies online (they are usually tiny stones for the heavy ones) or if you are willing to spend some $$$ which I know not many of us have in this day and age you can go here http://www.saltoftheearthweightedgear.com/sites/
They are the best....and maybe you can put a big teddy bear between you and your blanket and that might work.

Don't the Japanese have those long pillows with the hugging arm extension coming out the side of it with a woman painted on the pillow. That stuff creeps me out.

I agree. I have a 30-lb weighted blanket from dreamcatcher and it's great. I don't always need to sleep with it, but it's very helpful after i get home from work or i'm feeling stressed. I get very relaxed and it also helps with falling asleep if i'm restless.

I'll take a hug machine if the hug machine wants to get punched for hugging me.

I like the blanket idea. I find I sleep much better when it's cold because I have blanket, quilt, & bedspread on to keep warm. It's much more weight the the simple sheet that I have on now in the summer. I also agree with ToughDiamond; check out the love & dating section because they are lots of guys there who are having no luck including me :( The odds are stacked against us

I'm seriously considering purchasing a squeese machine or even a cattle chute becuse I crave deep presure so much. When I was little, my mum was seriously considering getting a squeeze machine becuase deep pressure was the only way to get me to calm down and seemed to prevent meltdowns. I don't like hugs, I find them uncomfortable and repulsive. But I LOVE deep presure, espicaly to my joints and back.

I suppose the guy lying on the woman's lap pillow would look a lot creepier if he were facing the other way.

Those weighted blankets sound pretty cool. Can anyone describe to me what they feel like (ie: Softness, Can you feel the stones?, etc.)?

Aw, Blabs. I don't even like hugs but that is so touching. I'd give you a hug.
