I like watching movies, but it's difficult for me to decide to sit down and do it. It feels like a fear of committment, as if I'm going to miss something if I decide to focus my attention on one thing for two hours. Once it starts, though, I'm usually okay.

I dislike many lighthearted popular movies not because they're poorly made, but because the characters are kind of appalling. I saw "the Hangover" recently and it was entertaining, but there was something sad and rotten about how they were never held accountable for the injuries and property damage they caused. Most people would smile and say "hey man, it's just a movie!" And I'll shut up because it wouldn't help to tell them the truth: "It's not just a movie, it's someone's idea of a perfect world. You and lots of other people identify with it, and it sickens me."

Speaking of sick, I LOVE horror movies where the evil is right out in the open, and usually gets its comeuppance at the end.

I love movies. When I was younger, I didn't like them much & rarely watched them, but I have for the past few years.

Depends. I rarely have the paitence to watch anything other than Lion King or Titan A.E.. I have to look up the entire plot of a new movie someone wants me to watch so I know EXTACTALY what happens. If I can't look up the enite plot start to finish on wikipedia or some other site, I decline the offer to watch said movie. I've watched Lion King and Titan A.E. so much I can quote the entire script from both of them. I really dislike watching movies other than these two. I only watch other movies to make the other person happy but I feel as if I am having my fingernails ripped out.

I like movies but I don't go to the theater by myself so I don't go as often as I'd like. I watch movies on computer/DVD as well but I pause em a lot to check email, message-boards ect. I'm extremely easily distracted. I like a lot of bad comedy movies & stoner/slacker movies like Dude Where's My Car or Pineapple Express. The humor is pretty outrageous but I usually end up liking most types of movies 1ce I decide to watch em.

Ha, I have every season on DVD...I think I like the repetitiveness of TV episodes, especially shows like friends. I used to play it every night and it helped me fall asleep because it was so familiar. I'll move on to a different show and watch it over and over until it becomes very familiar, to the point of where it relaxes me. This is great because when I'm in an unfamiliar situation (like staying overnight new places) I just play whatever TV show I'm into at the time and I'm good.

Looks like I've finally found others who can't follow films. I get so lost during most movies- even when I try to pay attention. I've seen the 9th gate four times, and it makes more sense every time I see it. Some movies, like actions movies, are so blatant I can't miss anything, but even then I sometimes won't understand what's going on. I wonder why that is?

i like watching movies on my 120hz antijudder TV set, when i can turn on the subtitles for the perceptually impaired, smooth the juddery film motion, and pause the action for this and that- but i really am not impressed by seeing these same movies on the big theatrical screen due to judder, uneven volume [either too damned quiet or loud], mumbling method actors, lack of subtitles, noisy popcorn-munching/pop-slurping gossiping audiences, too dim projection bulbs [so the theatre owner can $ave on electricity], paper-thin walls separating adjacent theatre halls so in the quiet and not-so-quiet parts you can hear explosions next door, etc.
aside from all that, some movies are just too complicated [in terms of plot, overlapping dialogue[! !!] and red herrings] for me to follow- as though they were made for only the cognitive elites to understand. from a commercial as well as educational standpoint, that is unfortunate because it excludes the bulk of their potential audience from their entertainments- both sides lose in this case.

I'm fine watching films, though it takes a fairly long time for me to properly work out what my opinion of it is.

It really depends on the film, for me. I can really enjoy a film, but I don't go out of my way to watch a lot of films because I often think that it would be such a waste of time if the film was to be rubbish. I also have real trouble remembering film names, actors names and directors names which kind of excludes me from being a real film fan.

I really like watching movies. But I hate the more 'realistic' ones.

Right now though, I'm more into TV on DVD.

I love good movies, but often my attention just won't fix on it - my mind is often too busy analysing social relationships, especially when I'm doing a lot of social stuff and getting all anxious so my brain won't shut up. If I had £1 for every time I've had to rewind what I've just completely missed, I'd be filthy rich.

But when I'm calm, a good movie can really hit the spot. I was rivetted to "Ransom," also loved "Flatliners," and the Monty Python films. But mostly I prefer shorter things like Supernatural, South Park, Boys From The Blackstuff, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Kung Fu, Catweazle, The Young Ones, Bottom, Alexei Sayle's Stuff.........comedy seems a lot easier to take in somehow.

Preface: I hate the term "aspie" (actually, that's going in my sig).

I love movies. Once I watch something that's related to an interest, I then go back over it and watch the bits I like over and over again.

Depends on the movie! I really enjoyed "The Princess and the Frog" for example. I found the visuals very stimmy.
