My roommate and I took the kittens and the mother (whom we named Myrtle) in and the kittens promptly moved in a space under the refrigerator.

Always. I've always been more emotionally tied to animals rather than people...especially as a small child.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

I can't even stand to see the SPCA commercials that show the abused and neglected animals.

Yes.

When I see animals who are hurt it is so horrible. I would rather be hurt myself than there be an animal hurt.

Late at night I have seen the Sarah McLachlan SPCA commercials many times and I feel so so sad and am crying or almost crying and want to give them all my money:

I feel the same way. I can't stand to see an animal hurting (or anyone or anything, for that matter).

I could step over the body of a dying person to get to an injured animal to offer help to save the animal. If my house was on fire and my family was out safely I would knock over my families upstairs renters to get to my dogs.

Me too. And yes, I get very upset/stressed out/emotional when I see an animal that is hurt or in trouble. I worry about my animals a lot.

YES! I have a really soft spot for animals, and particularly neglected/abused dogs. I always take in as many as I can, and I'll sacrifice a lot of other things at home, in order to keep our dogs safe, healthy and happy. Several of our chihuahuas are disabled, and one with insulin-dependent diabetes. I took in a litter of 2-hour-old abandoned kittens when I was 18 or so, and that was a HUGE job, but my instincts guided me and I managed to care for them properly, bottle feeding every 4 hours and all. They had been born in a thunderstorm, and my dogs chased the mother away and she wouldn't come back to take care of the kittens.

My wife is the same way about animals, although she's NT. Right now we have 9 dogs and 13 cats, and 3 horses; and thankfully are in good circumstances enough to have a hired worker to help care for them all properly without letting it get out of hand.

My older brother is a wildlife biologist but lives about 2 1/2 hours away. I have emailed him for the name of a wildlife rehabilitator. I read up online and it may be they are close to being OK to survive on their own. I've read they are ready at 6 to 8 weeks. They are about this size. A woodchuck and a groundhog are the same thing btw.

I get upset if I'm the cause of animal's suffering, i.e., an accident. (I don't feel anything when hunting, but that's probably because I make sure they're dead as soon as I squeeze the trigger or when I've caught my meal.)

Yes
Everything has its place.
If a mouse is in your house you set a trap.
Animals are put down every day in the food industry.
If I hit a squirrel or opossum with my vehicle , I hit the steering wheel in disgust.

What gets my goat is when I see a car veer for the geese or opossum that are crossing the road or when poachers poach deer .The latter can get everything confiscated/ impounded , including their vehicle ; then they auction off the goods.....I never could understand this hunters greed-mindset.

A few weeks ago at school I was standing around next to some random people and I sort of spaced out and stared over one (short) person's shoulder and saw a squirmy brown creature in the dirt (not even under a tree 8O ) behind them. I walked over to investigate and found a baby bird  I called my mom (who is a birdie expert) who was at home and she came and picked it up. People walking by me were grossed out and rude because its feathers hadn't come in yet and it was a little bit bare and pathetic looking. I don't understand why they grimaced and said ew instead of wanting to get it warm and fed... I used antiseptic on my hands afterward! Jeez... :?

I attempted rescue of so many baby birds in my life. I did manage to rescue some baby bunnies after their mother was run over by a lawn mower. There were four and I kept them in a large dog crate. My Vet told me that it was likely that they would not survive and he was right for the main part but I did manage to save one and care for it until It was old enough to set free. I never tried to pet it or make it domesticated as my vet said that would only kill it. My kids were constantly looking under the blanket that was over the crate because they were curious so that is probably why most of them died, they are easily frightened and were not accustomed to eating yet.
I am a big animal person and if it were not for my husband Id have a zoo. My kids....aside from my 5 year old autie who just seems to ignore animals....also are animal lovers. My 20 year old daughter has three cats, I have five and my 17 year old has a dwarf bunny. I also have two dogs a collie and a rat terrier. My collie and four of my cats are moving to France with me. One of my cats is very old and Im afraid the flight would kill her so Im leaving her with my daughters. Our Rat Terrier is going to live with my parents...he will be spoiled rotten.
I also cant stand to watch those SPCA shows and commercials. I do give what I can, to them and to the Autism Service dogs of America.

I would be absolutely outraged if the SPCA used its money on something other than the animals. I always assume the worst because of the amount of evil, greedy, soul-less people in the world. I don't even want to think about people abusing them it makes me f*cking sick.

I donated a lot of pet goodies to the SPCA last year.
