How to determine age

I have a slightly related, slightly different problem with age.

Anyone over about 30 looks old to me. Old as in, like my parents age, who are in their 60s.

And besides, you don't cut the heads off... the rings are in their legs. Doesn't anyone ever watch Family Guy. Geesh.

When in high school my friends and I discussed this, and we concluded that the best overall indicator of age is the neck. It tends to continue to change shape, wrinkle, etc. at a constant rate yet can't be smothered in makeup like crow's feet can.

Further proof we need to count the rings like the neck of a tree!

I'm hopeless guessing someone's age. My memories also have very little correlation with my own age. But I suppose it is important, another journey around the sun can be a long time.

Steal their wallet and look for their date of birth in an ID.

Seriously though, its hard to guess. People have always guessed that I am younger than I actually am. An old lady at the beach thought I was 6 when I was 12.
