Aspies are already segregated in a way because most of em are introverted & keep to themselves

Not to burst your bubble or anything,
But "Life" really is a bubble.

As a thought experiment, let's pretend that you were so fed up with the economy that you decided to move to Russia (pretend that in Russia, jobs are plentiful like their snow). If you assimilated with other Russians, and got used to their customs, would you be more open-minded? If you decided to live in an English-speaking community, would you be living in a bubble?

I agree. Neurotypicals shun aspies based upon their perceived differences. A community would merely bring those shunned individuals together.

There is enough to be learned in an aspie community. And I don't mean literally a prison with walls and no one in/out. Now, if you are gonna argue that people won't interact with NTs if they leave the place simply for some errands, I would say that the total number of people you would interact with would be more anyway, unless you are one of those people who always meetup with aspies frequently.

This community is a few miles along the road from me, I shop for my bread and groceries here.

It sounds so irritating. I would hate it.

This is for learning differences in general, not for aspies specifically.

Interesting thought, I don't know if I'd like it or not though...depends on the exact circumstances surrounding said Aspie Community.

ah but you see, the very nature of learning about life is present in a community at all times, its learning about the NT life that would be missing and that would be fine for me.

That`s right but I think the ethos of that place would be a good foundation for an aspie community.

I guess I thought of an Aspie community as one where members were independent before but chose to live together, rather than being forced to live together because they lacked certain life skills. Having had experience with Newton Dee, would YOU want to live there? If you like the general idea of Newton Dee, but there are certain things that you wanted to change, what would they be?

Doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. Forming a softball team would be out and any community picnic would result in mass perseverating.

It all depends on where they are on the spectrum -- I don't see why it has to result in mass perseverating. I think the idea (jc6chan correct me if I'm wrong) is that aspies would form the community so that they could enjoy each other's company, and not have to worry about social mistakes (largely because nobody would notice).

I'd think if a picnic were to be organized, those who would perseverate and not interact would not sign up anyway.

Yes, thats correct. Its not that aspies would not notice, but that they are less likely to judge others when the mistake happens.
