I thought it was usually doctors that had piss poor handwriting as opposed to aspies. Well I'm an aspiette and my handwriting is lovely as I have been told on many occasions so I don't think AS has anything to do with it.

Actually, it does, so long as the aspie in question has poor fine motor skills. I have extremely poor eye-to-hand coordination, but not fine motor skills. Like, I was horrible at baseball, basketball, etc.., so much so that I hate the sport. I was, strangely enough, fairly decent, but not truly good, in soccer, which I only played for a short while in school.

I also can't draw at all, like I can't coordinate the lines with the visions in my mind. I am definitely not an artist by any means, so I sometimes question whether my fine motor skills are truly good. My handwriting isn't truly bad, though it probably could be better. I just write so small. But, then again, I keep the text on my computer screen small as well. I have some bizarre fixation with text and writing smallness. Don't ask me why.

I can draw really well, and when I was very young I was a great catcher on the baseball team. Odd :?

My handwriting resembles hieroglyphics and I can't draw to save my life.

I agree. My natural handwriting is terrible, but I found that if I take the time to form letters, instead of just scribbling as fast as I can, my handwriting becomes very good.

My handwriting is absoutely terrible. I have to put in so much concentration just to stop the letters from "collapsing" in on themselves, there are barely any curves, more like wobbly triangles, and worst of all it takes ages to write.

I only have the bad aspects to these disorders. I'm socially inept, I have unlimited amounts of anxieties and problems, but at least I'm bad at maths and can't even remember the name of the lead character in the book I just read!

My handwriting has never been very good. I always got low marks for penmanship. I had some trouble learning to write growing up. When we were learning print, I had a teacher who helped me but when learning cursive writing, the first teacher I had dind't care and never bothered to help me. She often stuck me in a corner and ignored me. My parents fortunately did try to work this out, without success, so they transferred me to a different school where my teacher gave me extra help. I did learn it, but never with good quality. I still have poor handwriting to this day.

My handwriting is neat and legible, as is that of my two aspie kids. My two ADHD kids are the ones with illegible handwriting.

Same here. I abhor writing longhand for that reason.

My handwriting is fairly bad. If I had it my way, it would be very neat and methodical, as well as small and uniform.

Unfortunately, when writing at any pace, it looks bad. I suppose it could be worse. It is legible at least. My signature is never consistent, and is fairly sloppy.

My handwriting is fairly awful. I also have very poor balance with my letters, so they are rarely all on the line. Don't even make me mention my cursive/script.

My handwriting is awful, and seems to be even worse than when I was younger. It's gotten smaller over the years, so now it's miniscule compared to others' handwriting, and I write so fast that my handwriting often can't keep up, so after the first letter or two the rest of each word just looks like a scribble, with the occasional dot above it. :P I tend to repeat words too, and I can rarely stop myself from crossing "l"s as well as "t"s. Thankfully I'm required to word process work in college, but making notes or writing in my diary can be a real pain. It might be partly that I grip my pen really weirdly, does anyone else do this? :? (My grip was once described like holding a dart, whatever that's supposed to mean. :? )

I was curious as to whether bad handwriting was an aspie trait. I have the worst handwriting I have ever seen compared to everyone else. Sometimes I wonder whether if 6 year old wrote my notes. My notes, signature, etc are all very poorly written, even when I take my time my hand doesn't want to seem to be as fluid as everyone else.

Yes, my handwriting is s**t. It's tough to take down notes in class when I can't read them myself 90% of the time. Even writing my signature well isn't easy...

I have the worst hand writing. If I write a legible letter then I'll just stare at it in awe at the fact that I wrote that letter. My words are all bunched together and my religion teacher keeps reminding me to write neatly...and every teacher I've had.
