I am horribly clumsy....in high school gym my teacher actually said I was the most uncoordinated person he had ever seen in his life! How coordinated are you?

Also, I have always been told that I have really bad posture, and that I walk/run funny. Anybody else?

Does/did anyone have difficulty with activities requiring fine motor skills, (e.g. sewing, knitting etc. if you ever tried these things)?

I'm quite spatially challenged but I compensate for this for being particularly slow, deliberate, and cautious in my movements.

I'm particularly bad at coordinating myself with other people and any type of social physical interaction.

I try to keep myself out of the way.

When someone goes to high five me or do some odd handshake, my first though is "????"
My second thought is "Oh, they want me to high five them or engage in some type of conplex handshake"
My third thought is "I don't really want to touch them...."
My fourth thoght is "But it would be rude of me not to..."

And then depending on whether it's a high five or a complex hand shake, I give them a half hearted high five or I hold my hand out in some similar fashion to them and they find they have to walk me through every step of this complex hand shake quite slowly as I have no idea what this little routine is they are trying to do.

And then I'm mildly distressed and wish to wash my hands.

Hi, I am pretty clumsy...drop things and crash into things all the time; really gets embarrassing at times...and have had remarks made about my gait. I think that it has always been this way- as far as I can remember, anyway.

i have weak ankles so i am always twisting one or the other sideways, i guess they call that "pronation" - one of my legs is an inch shorter than the other, so i bounce when i walk- this plus the fact that my neck is long and a bit floppy means that i look like a bobblehead doll when walking. in the army this kept me out of drill & ceremonial marching, fortunately. i have a hard time walking down stairs without tripping my heels and falling onto my butt. good handrails are a must.

It took me 5 years to learn how to catch a ball and 3 years to learn how to ride a bike, despite rigourous training by my Mum.
At school I often broke things, especially in chemistry and DT.
I walk with my feet pointing outwards and I never wear high heels (I am female) as they are stupid and f*cking impossible to walk with.

My walk is ok. I'm very clumsy though and break/drop things every few minutes it seems. I bump into everything, too, so I get lots of bruises. And like steelmaiden, I don't get along with bicycles - they are mean to me.

I can't even wear wedges. I twist my ankles in them.

Yeah, I understand. I've never been able to walk in flip-flops ever since I first tried them on. Actually, I just can't walk in backless shoes; my feet will fall right out. I just got some new "fashionable" sandals recently (with backs + straps), and I've only worn them a few times. They already look old and beat-up.

I remember trying to wear wedges when I was in middle school -- that was the last time I'd ever wear them.

I learned how to ride a bicycle really easily.
Actually, I have a rather unfortunate combination: I'm flexible yet uncoordinated. It's pretty annoying during the gymnastics unit at my school.
I'm probably one of the few people who's gotten a bloody nose in gymnastics because I was trying to do a forward roll off a stack of mats, but overjudged the distance between my knee and my face
I did learn biking without too much trouble, though. So, I think my balance is fine.

No way on the heels (even if they're 1/2 inch high) or wedges.

I struggle with flip flops. If I walk slower than usual, I can wear them on flat surfaces, so I do that because sometimes my feet like to be "free."

I walk very stiffly, I'm told. The OT said it's like the upper half of my body doesn't realize it can move separately from the lower half. I don't twist or turn (throws off my balance/makes me dizzy).

I cant write cursive worth a damn. it infuriated my third grade teacher that a writing piece that took everyone else ten minutes took me a half hour. she would say "whats wrong with you? write faster!"

then in ninth grade, in keyboarding class, i failed because the proper fingering position was just awkward a painful to me, i can type 60 words a minute but only if im using my own hand posture, i can barely do 20 if im using the correct finger method.

my bosses would think it funny when i had trouble stacking a pallet of dog food and couldnt get it to stay in position.

my clumsiness got me fired from walmart, during the remodel, management was telling us to move faster and faster, we were dismantling shelving units and i was trying to catch one as it came down, but i missed and it hit another employee, she turned out fine but less than two hours after the incident i was called into the office and told basically that i was too clumsy to work there anymore, that and i didnt know how to respond to the injured employee, i just kept calling out "code white" which is "accident, first aid needed" in walmarts code system.

my son is a toe walker. he has an awkward gait, too. most people lead with their stepping out foot, but he walks more like his body is propelled forward and his feet just clump along really heavy underneath him trying to keep him upright. hes a bit on the clumsy side. he is actually pretty careful when doing things like climbing walls and playground equipment and has no trouble with those, but generic walking and he trips all the time.

my SO is similar. he doesnt walk on his toes but he is rather clumsy and trips over his own feet. he walks slow and has a tendency to kind of roll from side to side as he walks.

Nearly everybody I've met has commented on my apparent clumsiness. I don't think I have an awkward gait, or at least have never been told so. Usually, my most common places to fall are pools and stairs. Try that next time you're bored at a swim meet, haha.

And of course, every birthday party I've had has been commemorated by some kind of trip or dropping of something. I've dropped cakes, presents, and the like, and basically tripped into the hotel's jacuzzi on my 16th while wearing heels. Might have been a waste of makeup and coordination, but at least I can make a ton of jokes out of it now with my friends. I guess that's my coping mechanism :)

YES! I am mostly clumsy with my hands. A major butter fingers. My family knows not to hand be certain delicate things, and I agree with them. I also have bad posture, but that's because I have a bad back. My muscles have always been short and tense. (Mainly from stressing out and worrying about stuff).

I have the unique talent of tripping over a postage stamp on a linoleum floor. I have no grace what-so-ever. My mom always said I was as clumsy as an ox. Not only do I constantly trip, run into objects/doors/walls, fall, etc, I also tend to drop anything I hold in my hands. The only exception to this is when I have my camera. I have never actually dropped it. I have come close though.
