I use my telephone, but I mostly send the messages.
I hate to talk, so I call if I must, f.e. announcement. Or when somebody calls me (rarely). I prepare the conversation before and I put my headphones on, because I hate to hold a telephone.

i have chosen a nice ring tone for my telephone.
every time it rings, i listen to the song, and i will be damned if i will be interrupted from listening to it.

There was one time when an Irish guy answered the phone and we had to end the call because he couldn't understand anything I was saying

I only use telephones when I really have to. Making calls is a bigger problem than answering them For some reason it makes me feel less in control.
I don't like it when someone talks for too long on the phone as I tend to switch off and after the call I forget most of what was said.

I hate using the phone. The only people I call regularly are my parents once a week, which I do find easy although often a bit of a chore. I never communicate with friends by phone (text or email), and Grandparents I do ring occasionally, but I really find it unpleasant as I never know what to say or how to end the call without offending them and the whole process makes me nervous. Calls to things like Electricity companies are generally fine, although I do get nervous beforehand and tend to try and avoid calling if there is any other means. Certain phone calls (such as complaining about something) can be very stressful, as the nerves combined with anger at feeling as though I am being mistreated are not a good combination. I always make a mess if I have to leave messages on answerphones as can never think of what to say quickly enough. Noone ever rings me (unless my family in an emergency or occasionally Grandparents), so it freaks me out a bit if I do get a call.

At work it is great because I don't have a private phone - we have a lab one, and anwering the phone is seen as a very low priority by my boss (probably also an Aspie), who also dislikes using the phone (says people should use email if they want to contact him). In fact, of the 8 of us in the lab, only 2 like speaking on the phone and frequently it will ring on and on and noone will answer it, particularly if we are busy doing something.

Yes. Most of the time I'm on the phone for a "social" conversation...which isn't very often, but still.

I hardly ever use a phone unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm fine with just using E-mail because I much prefer typing over talking.
