I walked late as a baby, at 14 months. I've always been clumsy and uncoordinated. I couldn't do basic things like push ups or cartwheels that it seemed almost everyone else could do. My older son walked at a little over a year, but he walked from side to side at first, with an awkward gait. We were both "pigeon toed" and have flat feet. He is not athletic either, and walked on his toes until he was about seven.

People have always told me that I look funny when I walk. I have never walked on my toes-there's just something a little different about my gait that's hard to explain. Whenever I try to walk flat on a treadmill I get the feeling that one leg is slightly longer than the other (one leg always feels like it is getting overly stretched while the other is extended normally) so this might have something to do with it. Additionally, I have trouble with my knees and my ankles "popping out of place" for lack of a better term. I often have to stop walking and twist my foot to get whatever muscle or tendon it is in my ankle to "pop back in". It is much more difficult and painful to "fix" my knees, but luckily they don't give me as much trouble as they did when I was a kid. I have noticed a lot of people on this site mentioning that they are flat-footed, but my feet have a decent arch. I guess I just have some weird walking issues that are all my own :)
