I like deep pressure itself--I wrap myself up very tightly in blankets when I sleep, and I occasionally fantasize about having a lead blanket of the sort used to prevent radiation--but I really hate being touched by people. Hugs terrify me, especially when strangers give them to me. Cuddling isn't bad, but I can't be pressed into anything by anyone or I start to panic.

I like to do the cushion thing that ratlady mentions, too. I actually can't sleep at night if I don't have a heavy enough blanket to sleep under.

Yeah, I'm the same with blankets. :) I don't have any heavy blankets though, so instead I use a bedthrow over my blanket, which works well. I'm not really that much into hugs, and will never initiate them, but if I have to put up with them I will. I can't stand light touches though, and often have to either rub the area that's been touched really hard, or hit it to help forget about the light touch. :?

Its a hug; where they squeeze you till you squeak. I like em, give em, but now realize the average person doesnt like that firm of a hug.

As for me, I have wonderfully heavy cushions on the back of my sofa. I can just lie down on the sofa and pull them over on top of me or wedge an arm or a leg under them while watching television. I don't mind if a kid lies on top of the cushion too.

I love doing things like that, usually cuddling up in blankets and pillows quite tremendously when going to bed, but I don't that has to do with deep pressure. I think it's more of a texture thing, and it has the ability to make me feel calmer, believe it or not. I can't easily fall to sleep with my body open, unless I am really tired.

If you haven't tried it yet, there is this: ask him to lie down on the floor, near and parallel to a wall. Walk very slowly along his back while putting your hands against the wall, so you don't wobble. Best way is to have your feet perpendicular to the spine. Transfer weight slowly to one foot, shift the other foot, slowly transfer you weight to that foot, and so on. NEVER put a foot higher than between the shoulder blades. (Is it necessary to say that you shouldn't wear shoes?)

This should work if you are lighter than the person you work on, borders on painful if your weight is comparable, and I would not recommend it if you are heavier, unless you have the balance and coordination to take some weight off your feet. You can do that by leaning on a table and putting a good proportion of your weight on your hands. You need to be able to do that consistently, and keep your balance. What you absolutely must avoid is sudden increases in pressure. So avoid wobbling, stumbling or any other sudden weight shifts.

I enjoy certain types of pain too. I don't know what that's all about but I think it's related to my stims. I don't get the same happy relaxed feeling as I do with pressure.

i agree , when i think about it , i do like some kinds of pressure , i like it when i'm stressed or anxious, it maks me feel safe and hiden away from people but away from problems too.
i also know it may sound sadistic but i like some kinds of pain too.
i bite my nails and i fidget with my hands a lot ( which i have heard is a aspie characteristic)
and as i was biting my nails i scratched my gum, but it felt really good, like some kind of release, like already said. does that sound really weird? and now as well as biting my nails and fidgeting with my hands , when i am angry or stressed i start putting prssure on my gums , now i'm writing this i feel really stupid and just odd . sorry if anyone is freaked out or disgusted , I CAN'T HELP IT ! IT HELPS!

No, not really weird. I like putting pressure on my gums too and I don't know why. Most people hate going to the dentist for something like a cleaning, when they scrap around your gums with that metal pick, but I could fall asleep in the chair it feels so good to me. :?

Actually, so can I. I always attributed it to the light, though; bright light in my eyes makes me close them automatically because I am very photosensitive. Maybe it's the gums, too? I do hate the nasty-tasting things they put it your mouth.

I also bite down on my wrists and hands when I'm stressed--not hard enough to draw blood, but hard enough to leave an impression of my teeth, and one of my oldest stims is grinding my teeth.

I don't know if this counts, but I like tight clothing. I hate the feeling of loose clothing because i have the feeling that it's gonna fall off.

Yeah, I'm photosensitive too. I know exactly what you are talking about. I used to grit and grind my teeth when I was younger, but for whatever reason I stopped.

I have completely fallen asleep before in the chair.

Just out of curiosity Hollie, are you sensitive to light too?

I am a diagnosed Aspie, my boyfriend undiagnosed. We both seem to like deep pressure and I hate light touches.

We both like the weight of each other on top of us and sometimes lay on top of each other for a period of time most people would find uncomfortable (one at a time of course!) As I am only 8 stone to his approx 15 I have to grab hold of the side of the bed and underneath of the headboard to pull myself down on him.

I find it relaxing and grounding to have his weight down the length of my body.

I also find similar grounding effect from sitting in a wardrobe or other small enclosed space that I can shut off in. I wonder if it is because the confined space is putting deep pressure on my aura (energy field).

Sundy,

I can relate, I've always enjoyed pressure on my body. While was undergoing treatment after a car accident several years ago, I accidentally (no pun intended), I realized that I enjoyed having the therapist walk on my back.

I also can relate to ratlady, when I was younger I would enjoy having other kids sit on top of me for inordinate amounts of time.

And come to think of it, I've often considered buying a tent for by bedroom to achieve deep pressure on my aura as Bearsac-Debra. (On more than one occasion at work, I've turned a closet into my "office space", amidst and mumbling from co-workers.

Hey, maybe that can be a new business venture, offering to sit on people for long stretches of time . . .

I like pressure, but don't like people touching me. So, yes to pressure, no to being squeezed by someone. I'm thinking of trying one of those fancy weighted blankets when i get some extra money. I was thinking that somewhere around 25 lbs might be good, but i'm not sure. I don't want it to be too much of a hassle to clean... I wonder if anyone else here has tried those "compression vests" made primarily for surgery recovery, men with gynecomastia, and stuff like that? I have a few of those, and started wearing them mainly for reasons related to a certain level of gender dysphoria(for, uh, chest compression), but i find that i actually like the pressure too, so the only time i really take it off is when i shower. It gives me a kind of secure feeling. I like the feeling of the full-length compression shirt i have the best, but in the summer time it can get really hot(plus, it tends to roll up if you're being very active) so i have to wear a shorter one a lot of the time. I think a lot of others who like deep pressure might like these, as they are much thinner and easy to wear under clothing than the "weighted vests" i see out there made for autistics... Maybe not as much pressure as some of those, but it's the kind of thing you can wear pretty much all the time.(at underworks.com, they have a bunch of different ones.. i like the "double front compression shirt") You know what's GREAT for deep body pressure, though? Python and Boa hugs :D
