Yes, I'd forgotten about this. I'm a male who was almost always mistaken for a female on the phone. In my late teenage years I made a conscious effort to use the lower part of my vocal range. Apparently that worked, though it ruined my singing voice. Anyone got a part for a four-note baritone?

Yes I am often mistaken for a woman on the phone.
At work when I answer the phone I say my name it usally works.
I have hung up when people make the mistake at home tho.
It's wierd that my voice is like this because I am pretty masculent
in all other ways.

Few times somebody thought I was a man. I have deep voice, so ok, I understand, but it happened very rarely. I must have something feminine in this deep voice.
