If you dislike it:

I chose it because it's easy to understand, for the most part. (What does socially adapted personality mean?). It hasn't been posted here before, as I can see.

Of course, I'm not a tough critic, so maybe there is something that I'm not seeing or maybe some of you just have different opinions on it than me. (We are all different). The only test that I have had problems with is the DSM-IV one because it's hard to understand. I guess it's meant for people in the psychologically filed to understand.

I respect your opinion, I'm just telling why I think it's good. As I said, I don't like the DSM-IV test, and some of you may like that, that's OK.

I got a score of around a 40 but some of the stuff was like maybe/maybe-not. Alot of my symptoms relate more to how I come off around people than it is my ability to understand them. I understand people a whole lot better but I still get crapped on for the typical you're so quiet or you're so sad junk when I'm clearly fine.

Speech and language peculiarities- well, not that I'm aware of... :)

Overformal speech- Ha, definitely. I am referred to as the Walking Dictionary, or Geekface, by me best friend, who is incidentally dyslexic.

Taking everything literally- Yep. I can't take a joke for the life of me. When someone said "keep an eye out for anything to do with this", I replied- "But I can't take my eyes out!"

Word repetition- I think so. When someone says "Do we do this?" i reply- "We do." I include
words in my answer almost exact to the question.

Long monologues- Nope. I don't know how to bring my topic of interest to a conversation, so
I just along with the other persons talk, and stay quiet.

Inappropriate remarks- Yessss.

Inability to take turns talking- Yes, I interrupt all the time...

Inability to listen to others- Not really. I can listen, but I only listen to things I think are important.

Speaking without any pitch or tone- Don't think so. I do use tone. But people think I sound depressed a lot.

Unable to recognize figure of speech or sarcasm- Uh huh. All the time.

Difficulty initiating conversation- I get all tensed up and scared if I have to initiate social contact.

Flat, cheerless demeanor- Yes. Though I don't think so, everyone else does!

Loud voice- Yeah, I'm always getting told off for it.

Doesn’t respond to name very well- I always miss it.

Non-verbal communication problems such as:

Inability to pick up facial expressions- I am terrible!

Not able to notice body language- Nope, never. People never notice these kinds of symptoms though. They just think I'm dumb.

Does not pick up subtle changes in someone tone of voice- Nope. I can never tell.

Avoid eye contact while communicating- Only when it's about a sensitive topic.

Unaware of personal space ( invading it!)- Oh yeah, all the time.

Few facial expressions- Apparently so.

Unaware of unwritten rules- Absolutely.

Impaired social interaction such as:

Social withdrawal- Yer, I avoid others.

Lack of interest in other people- Mum calls me a loner! So yes!

Eccentric personality- Yep, I've known that for a long time.

Preoccupied with their own agenda- Yep. Don't give a fig about other people's activities.

Socially non-adapted personality- Yes. I don't act different for anyone.

Urge to correct people in their speech or behaviour- HA! I do it all the time.

Limited interests- Only music, and anime. Music and anime!! !

Unusual preoccupations- I guess!! !

Need for sameness- Oh yeah, I HATE change.

Repetitive routines or rituals- Not really. I do it subconsciously.

Engages in highly repetitive play- Nope, don't think so anyway.

Excellent rote memory- Yep!!

Lack of empathy- Yeah... unfortunately. I wish I could FEEL something like that sometimes...

Single-mindedness- Dont know what that means, so no!

Aloof- Yeah...

Inflexible thinking- Yep, I'm like an old granny, set in her ways.

Lack of imagination- Nope, my imagination in amazing!

Indifferent- Yea...

Rigid thinking- Yes.

Lack of make-believe or imitative play- No. I like pretend games!

Fear of changes- Yes. I am a nervous wreck now! We've moved house ten times!

Poor motor skills such as:

Poor coordination- Yes.

Clumsiness- I'm more clumsy than my dyspraxic friend!

Uncoordinated motor movements- Yes. PE is hell.

Hand flapping- Yes my friend commented on that once.

Head swiveling- nope, not that I know of.

Mirroring- If it means copying other people's movements, then yes, all the time.

Stilted Doesn’t have a strong response to pain- Yes. I broke my arm when I was 10, and the teachers were astounded that I was sat there, chatting away, like nothing happened!

Extreme dislike of certain noises, textures or situations- I HATE loud bangs, engine growls, acceleration, thunder, loud voices, any food that is too flavoured, spicy, strong or smelly, I don't like many foods at all actually!

Easily over stimulated by sounds, crowds or lights- Yes...

That makes... 39 or 40? And I'm not even diagnosed!

Few facial expressions: Yes.

Unaware of unwritten rules: ? this question makes no sense to me. How am I suppose to know what unwritten rules I don't know? I don't even know the ones I do know, if any. I obviously must know some though.
