We're people too. We weren't made 'special'. We're only 'special' in the sense that we (possibly) are a minority versus the majority (NT).
NTs are just as good as Aspies, and we were all created the same. Different flaws, but inherently the same outcome. Sometimes, I wish aspies would get off their high horses.
That was the first thing I thought about this thread. There's a great tendency in Aspergers / Autism to feel like you're special, it feels like the only way to get self esteem in a world where otherwise you'd have no purpose and often feel rejected. I'm always mindful of the "special" thoughts but I still believe I have some talents I can use to help others and myself, I just haven't found out where they're actually useful yet.
